Enchanted Garden
By Jax Zhang
I journeyed deeper into the forest, my hope began to wane with every step. The trees around me grew taller, their branches twisting into strange shapes, casting lIong shadows across the path. The air, thick with the scent of damp earth and moss, seemed to grow heavier with each passing moment. My footsteps, once filled with purpose, now echoed with uncertainty, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was venturing further into the unknown. Just when I thought I was lost, something remarkable caught my eye—a flicker of light in the distance, like a guiding star beckoning me forward. It was faint at first, just a small glimmer, but it soon brightened, growing stronger with every step I took toward it. Intrigued by its glow, I followed, and as I approached, the light became clearer. It led me to a mysterious sign, its words inscribed: “Welcome to the Ethereal Garden.”
The sign was unlike anything I had ever seen before. It was made from a peculiar, otherworldly material that seemed to shift and shimmer in the light, as if it had a life of its own. The surface was smooth, yet subtly textured, as though it had been crafted by hands not of this world. A soft fragrance, reminiscent of roses, filled the air, but there was something more—a faint, magical undertone, as if the sign itself was imbued with an enchantment. The sensation it gave me was one of both wonder and awe, and for the first time in what felt like forever, my heart swelled with a renewed sense of hope
With a sense of renewed wonder, I continued on, each moment unveiling a new marvel, each more extraordinary than the last. The path led me deeper into the garden, and what lay before me was beyond anything I could have ever imagined or hoped to see. The garden stretched endlessly, a vibrant tapestry of surreal beauty that seemed to exist in a realm beyond the ordinary, as if untouched by time itself. Strange and wondrous plants grew in abundance, their forms unlike anything I had ever seen before. Some of them glowed softly with an otherworldly light, casting a gentle illumination across the surroundings, making everything appear enchanted. Others burst with vivid hues of blue, green, yellow, red, and white, their colors so rich and intense that they seemed to pulse with life, as if the very earth beneath them was alive and aware of its existence.
In this magical place, time seemed irrelevant, and the boundaries of reality blurred. Every step deeper into the garden revealed more of its infinite wonders, leaving me in awe of the intricate beauty and harmony that surrounded me. It was as though I had stumbled upon a secret world, a sanctuary where nature and imagination danced in perfect unity, forever etched in my memory.

Dear Dairy,
Yesterday when I was strolling home from school, I noticed an unusual burden gate near the local butcher’s shop. I could feel a light tugging on my skin, urging me to get closer but instead of going nearer like most people would, I thought that the gates would be locked anyway, so I turned and walked away, or more like tried to walk away!
When I had just walked like literally five steps, the tugging on my skin got so strong that I nearly fell over! I decided that I was probably stranded here stuck to an invisible string which was tied to one of the iron bars of the gate. I realized that I could just try to get through the gate and take on what was inside it, so I decided to walk to the gate. When I walked over to the gate, instead of staying closed, it opened and technically sucked me in. I got so scared I closed my eyes, so I only felt the motion.
When I opened my eyes, the first things I saw were a beautiful clean landscape and the air was so fresh it refreshed my brain and for some reason, I felt like I was gaining energy from the tranquillity of the atmosphere. When I looked back, there was nothing but a forest that looked entirely endless. I heard rustling foliage in the tranquil breeze and the trees went so high only a small amount of light passed through to me. I decided to explore the forest.
As I was exploring the forest, I found some mystique things such as swimming birds and flying fish, and some normal things such as flying birds and swimming fish. After walking a long distance, I was feeling tired. I felt like all my energy had been drained out of me because I had walked such a long distance. Luckily the forest was very dappled so I could get a good rest. After a good rest, I decided that I could make a house out of trees and rocks, so I set off to get some supplies. I was just about to use my ruler from my pencil case that I took from school to cut a towering tree which I thought was actually pretty dumb when this random flying cow landed gracefully beside me and started talking.
“You need to buy donuts Bob!”
I thought,
‘Talking cows that can fly?’
I decided not to interrupt the yapping cow because I was afraid that it could eat me or send me to another world which I would not be happy with, so I sneakily tip-toed off without the weird cow noticing.
Later on, when I continued my journey, I met a crazy wolf that ate bugs which I ran away from because it gave me the ‘I’m going to eat you’ look, a man-eating ant which I thought was a watermelon, a dancing tiger that was eating cookies and a tiny little cat that spat out nuclear bombs.
Just as I was freaked out because of the scary animals I noticed a portal that read ‘Earth’ in the corner of my eye. I was so relieved that I nearly screamed, and I dashed right into the portal. I knew that I was able to go home and leave this magical forest with flying cows and man-eating bugs. When my feet found solid ground again, I dashed straight home in fright and happiness. I was surprised that no time had passed during my time at the forest so my parents weren’t that worried, but I still told my parents all about my adventure.
I had learnt my lesson yesterday, NEVER, EVER think too much about things that you do not know of, unless you want to tell someone about it. I just thought too much about it and decided to go near the gate yesterday and got technically got sucked in which I did not expect to happen and probably not tolerate for the rest of my life. I don’t think I’m ever going to go near some unusual gate that will suck me in and lead me to a world with flying cows in it! NEVER EVER!!!

Me!

MAGICAL GARDEN
BY:JASH PALLEY
Hidden in a secret valley, there is a magical garden discovered long ago by a kind sorceress named Elara. She found it one misty night under a full moon and decided to stay, protecting its beauty. The garden blooms only in moonlight, with glowing flowers and peaceful silence, a secret known only to those with kind hearts.
The trees in the garden are special, whispering stories of ancient magic. If you sit quietly, you can hear their soft voices, sharing secrets and wisdom. Some say these trees can heal sadness or offer guidance. Their whispers are peaceful and full of ancient knowledge.
Magical creatures roam the garden, adding to its wonder. Unicorns drink from sparkling streams, fairies flit through flowers, and griffins soar above. A friendly dragon may even be seen resting nearby. These creatures protect the garden and its magic, keeping it safe from harm.
In hidden corners, glowing mushrooms light up the night, casting a soft, warm glow. Some believe they have healing powers or can guide lost travelers. Their light makes the whole garden feel safe and magical.
Even after leaving, the magic of the garden stays with you. The whispers of the trees, the glow of the mushrooms, and the creatures’ beauty linger in your heart, a peaceful memory of a world full of wonder and enchantment.
