The rusty violin stood immobile and fragmented. Regret was all around my body as I realised the hard work luthiers had put in to make such specific details on just a small instrument that lay broken in the attic. Years ago, The precious instrument sang its harmonious song and everyone who heard it would stop in awe and admire it. I gently started to put together the broken pieces with relief washing over me. Abruptly when I tried it, it had sounded horrible! Agitation shot through me. Suddenly I noticed that it was just me with transcendent skills not exceptionally good ones.

The timeworn flute was covered by a layer of dust. It remembered its awesome past and felt the cracks become bigger and become more fragmented. The days when it was used almost every day and used to create notes with vigour. It then felt the dust fall away and then hear the wind blow through. The feeling of goodness slowly came back and flew around the room. The sound of the flute came wafting around like fairy dust. When each note was blown a crack was fixed. The flute slowly became better and was really good at playing music.
