Our Specialist Reading Comprehension course is designed specifically to help students develop the skills they need to excel in Cambridge Selective exams. The course focuses on poetry and cloze passage comprehension as these are commonly used passages in selective exams, enabling students to gain a better understanding of the different text types.

The course curriculum starts by introducing students to the different reading comprehension strategies applicable to each type of text. This is followed by in-depth practice sessions, where we provide students with a variety of comprehension questions on both poetry and cloze passages.

To make sure that the concepts learnt during class are retained, daily homework based on the topics covered in class must be completed. Furthermore, to assess the student’s intial performance, an entrance assessment test will be conducted on the first day.

At the end of our Specialist Reading Comprehension course, students can expect to have a better understanding of poetry and cloze passage comprehension, as well as enhanced metacognitive skills for higher order reasoning.
