    The Discovery
One sunny afternoon, Bob was in his lab studying a rare crystal. Bob was incredibly quiet, but that was because he never made a scientific breakthrough like any of his colleagues. That led him to being very timid and apprehensive.

The next day Bob was in the mining room, he was using a tiny hammer and gently tapping it a the rock that he was holding. Just in a millisecond it cracked open, revealing a hollow interior, it had a lining of shiny pink crystals. It was so shiny that it lit up the room in an iridescent light. AH! He gasped

Bob stared at it, frazzled, he had never seen anything like this. Could this be a new type of gemstone? For the next few weeks, Bob gathered as much information as he could. He reassured, he studied it crystal, and he even did experiments on it. Then he got an excellent idea!

Soon the day came, he had practiced in front of the mirror many times but now he was ready, he called all his colleges to a meeting. Then he talked about the crystal, all the research he did. He even told them how rare and expensive it was. In the end everybody clapped and congratulated him! He felt so good!

The next day bob could not believe what he saw, he was on the cover of every newspaper and TV show! From that day Bob was not a shy person anymore, now he is proud and respected. His job made him the CEO of their company! Now everybody admired him and honoured him, they even made a statue of him. This was the proudest moment of his life!

  3. My eyes flew open as my alarm rang. I ambled across the room like a zombie. The golden sun caressed my delicate skin when I ripped open the curtains. A tingle of excitement churned in my stomach. Today, I was going to explore the forest behind my house. A forest my grandparents had always told me to never visit however, my curiosity took over that statement.

I strolled out of my mansion and headed towards the greenery. What if there are monsters, I pondered Dark towering trees bowed down to greet me as I entered the misty rainforest. Abruptly, I spotted a swirling purple portal. My body filled with agitation. The vibration shook my body as if I was a ragdoll. We were magnets sticking together. Trying to avoid the suction, my interest had eventually let me through. I stepped through the peculiar circle.

The magical realm was packed with golden dragonfly’s and rainbow humming birds, drifting from one side to the other. I looked with my eyes wide open and my mouth as big as a black hole. Suddenly, I stared with awe at my arms. Feathery and green. My heart quickened. My legs shook as I bit my lip. Sweat poured down my face.

After an eternity of exploring and searching, I was about to give up. I’m never going to succeed, I thought pessimistically. Then, I spotted the same purple portal at the corner of my sight. I jumped up and down. Triumphant was spreading around my body as I bolted through.

That night, I lay in bed thinking about how courageous I was in going on a treacherous adventure to an undiscovered island.

  4. Wow, the ocean is as freezing as an iceberg in the chilly Antarctic ocean. Waves keep on pounding on my face and body, faster than my heart is pounding. I heard the news about this treasure box in the ocean that has infinite money inside. By the way my name is Ty. I go on adventures and this is my favourite one yet.

Wait, that Box jellyfish is super poisonous.I carefully go around it and see more Box jellyfish, double Oh OH!

But I’ve thought of this before, just in case the Box jellyfish stings me. I am wearing an anti-poisonous suit! If you touch the box jellyfish with this suit nothing would happen to you. Then I swimmed past the fish and I accidentally touched one and nothing happened. I made it across! And that was really intense!

I see a cave. I go into the cave and see the legendary chest. I opened it and a beaming light came to my chest and I closed my eyes and fell down to the floor.

Next thing I knew that I woke up in the bed and noticed that i’m in a mansion. Then I realised that it was the chest that made me a billionaire.

All my hard work paid off.

Imagine that your sleep has drastically reduced because of your parents, more because of the exam that’s on Friday. Every second you study you become even more tired. You realise why, the lack of sleep. Does this sound healthy to you?

A recent study found that 89% of the students in high school are failing the early annual exams due to the lack of sleep. The lack of sleep increases stress and anxiety, no relax time and even fainting! If this happens you will have to be rushed to the hospital, that can’t be good at all. You will miss out on your hobbies, fun time, and even your life long passion!

Speaking of life long passion, many students have wishes to be a doctor, teacher, mathematician, sports player, business person, and so much more! If this is cut short, people might be broke, which could lead to being homeless. They could be so sad that might even commit suicide! Experts have said that 39% who are extremely sad commit suicide! ‘What?!’ You may say, but you’re not alone.

Ultimately, you can still do dedicated studies, studying your hardest with full conviction, but remember this, don’t cut your sleep because of studies or because of your parents. Don’t you like to have a rest?

  7. Healthy sleeping habits

Imagine waking up with a clear, refreshed and a happy mind ready to get on with the day or if you yawned all day? If you get sleepy during the day you should start all of these good ideas to stop that.

In our class, teacher noticed that we focus a lot better after a refreshing, long sleep and scientist have proven that statement. As a kid I felt tired all day but when I started to sleep in for longer, I felt energetic most of the day.

Our growing bodies need at least 10 hours of sleep for physical and mental development. A good night sleep allows the body to restore itself, so let’s choose a proper bedtime routine.

Time to go to bed should be around 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm, choose one time to sleep everyday. It is better to keep it routine to have a maximum amount of sleep. The more hours the better.

Have dinner at 7:00 pm and drink hot milk after that. Brush your teeth for two minutes and wash your face just before you go to bed. Don’t have any devices in bed because they will distract you from going to sleep. Bed should be clean and you should be wearing clean pyjamas. The bedroom should be dark and quiet as much as possible.

This may be hard to do every night, so you can skip and stay up longer once a week on weekends. You might watch a movie, play a game or go outside to a special occasion, it is your own choice.

These helpful ideas will definitely minimise distraction in the night and have a happier day.
