  1. Social‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ media bans are among the worst choices that politicians can make. These kinds of decisions will turn against them in the long run. Indeed, social media is not without its problems, but if one forbids it, then one does not get any good things at all.

More than a few million people use social media daily so as to keep in touch with their family and friends. Small businesses depend on it to communicate with the customers. Students use it to learn together and share ideas. Consequently, as a result of a crisis, it enables people to find the refuge and get the help they require.

Bans should not be enacted; regulations, however, would be much better. Educate children in the proper use of social media. Make companies responsible for the quick removal of the harmful content. Give parents the power to decide what their children see.

It is seldom the case that banning something brings about the desired effect. People will find different ways to do it, which are usually less safe. We did not ban the television when people were scared of its influence. We got better at using it.

The only method of teaching people to use social media properly is by not taking it away entirely. We can settle the problems without giving up the wonderful things that unite us globally ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌nowadays.

  2. The social media ban plays a crucial role in protecting young children from viewing harmful content online, that may affect their mental health and wellbeing. Young children easily get an access to social media where everyone can upload any content whether it is inappropriate or not. The Government in Australia has banned social media to young children already, so that they don’t get mental illnesses like acting violently. The ban is a way to protect younger occupants from cyberbullying, and inappropriate knowledge.

Firstly, it is important to know if a young child is experiencing cyberbullying as it can damage their self esteem as well as their mental health. Cyberbullying can influence an adolescents mind as well. It is very harmful to all ages as it can result to anxiety throughout lifetime. The Government of Australia firmly believes that cyberbullying will create an atmosphere of gloom and despair amongst groups and teams. For example, children ages 16 and under can feel hurt and emotionally damaged easily and if they encounter cyberbullying, these reactions can crawl further out. This is clearly evident in many areas that social media bans are helpful for reducing cyberbullying.

Social media can be harmful by uploading inappropriate knowledge in a way young children can’t understand. Consequently, they may encounter nightmares according to the video they watched. For example, one might watch a video about false information that is very inappropriate and not suitable for their age restrictions, which leads to them feeling a sensation of anxiety with a touch of mental illness. Some critics argue that it is unnecessary to put a ban, but this is certainly not reasonable. It was pivotal to ban social media as too much of it can lead to anxiety.

Therefore, we should all support the social media ban as it is playing a critical role to protect young children from any kind of harmful contents. Whether it is something inappropriate or offensive, it always has a negative viewpoint to focus on.
