The OC test is months away
Your child sits the OC test this year. What you do now decides the result.
The 2026 OC placement test is scheduled for May. The format has changed, the question styles have changed, and most families are still preparing for a test that no longer exists. There is still time to get this right.
Students placed at James Ruse, North Sydney Boys, Baulkham Hills and more.
The test has changed. Has your preparation kept up?
The 2026 OC test is fully computer-based with new question formats. If your child is still preparing with older materials or paper-based methods, they are practising for a test that no longer exists.
The format is different this year
New collocation texts, heavier inference weighting, and 100 minutes of on-screen work. Students who have only practised on paper are at a real disadvantage on test day.
More practice tests won’t fix the gaps
Most families over-test and under-train in the final stretch. Practice tests measure weaknesses. They do not close them. And test fatigue is real.
The window is narrowing every week
Every child has one area weaker than the others. Without identifying it now, parents spread effort evenly and waste the limited time remaining on areas that are already strong enough.
