Day 2 Writing Homework

Writing Prompt:

Imagine you are a time traveller from the year 2060, speaking to a group of students in the 1980s. Write a persuasive speech on the importance of recycling and taking responsibility for our planet. Share your insights on the effects of climate change, the role of recycling, and the significance of sustainable living in your speech. Inspire the students to become environmental stewards.

  1. Why You Should Recycle
    By Jax
Pollution, killing thousands of poor animals off their delightful life. Destroying the ecosystem. Well, I’m a time traveller from the year 2060 and i’m here to discipline your young minds on recycling. First let me tell you the benefits of recycling. The first reason is because it make our planet more efficient as we dont have to waste our precious currency on ways to burn it away, the second reason is because it damages our wonderful ecosystem such as the animals, the plants, and how our planet looks, the last reason u should recycle is because it would put more pressure on the world’s finite resources, such as forests, fossil fuels, minerals, and water.

Recycling enhances the planet’s efficiency by decreasing the demand for new raw materials, which in turn helps to conserve our natural resources. When we recycle items such as paper, plastic, and metals, we save energy and lessen the environmental impact that comes with extracting, refining, and processing these materials. For instance, recycling aluminum can save up to 95% of the energy needed to create new aluminum from bauxite ore. By reusing materials, we not only reduce energy consumption but also decrease the pollution and waste generated during production. This efficiency contributes to a more sustainable economy, as it requires fewer resources to satisfy the demand for products, resulting in a smaller overall environmental footprint. As we increase our recycling efforts, we progress toward a circular economy where products and materials are reused, remade, and repurposed instead of being thrown away, fostering a more sustainable and efficient system for our planet.

Recycling is important as it protects the fragile ecosystems in which we live, because at the moment, our waste practices are awful. If we do not recycle, there are a number of materials, such as plastic, glass, and metal, that get thrown away and end up in either landfills, or worse, the oceans and forests where they damage the environment. Animals, for example, can ingest waste that has been mistaken for food and, as a result, ingest harmful substances that can kill them. In addition, it is especially worrisome that plastics are disposed of because they decompose into microplastics which invade ecosystems and enter the food chain of both animals and humans. Recycling lessens pollution and waste generation, instead, it puts more materials into the manufacturing process and reuses them. The excess waste on the soil also has devastating effects on plants because they cannot compete with the waste and this also disrupts the entire area’s biodiversity. Climate change solutions also include recycling because it makes it possible for us to protect the beauty of the planet and all living organisms, including ourselves and future generations.
To sum up, recycling is not just a choice that we should consider, but rather, a duty that we owe to our planet as well as future generations. It is a powerful tool that is simple to use and improves resource utilization, reduces energy consumption, and cuts down on environmental damage. Recycling helps lessen the pressure on the Earth’s limited resources as well as protect delicate ecosystems and reduce pollution that threatens animals and alters the biological diversity. Looking at the goal from a broader horizon, our vision makes sense, because we can make a world that is cleaner , and more environmentally friendly, where nature’s resources are recycled and the beauty of blue planet captivates for decades to come. Step by step, let us all work towards adopting recycling as one of the crucial steps towards greener planet supplemented with responsible action.

    why u should recycle

  2. Greetings, children of the 1980s! Do you know the awesome ultimate practice known as recycling? It can impact our lives and the world around us. By the way, I am David Webster from the year 2060 and I am here to tell you the importance of recycling! Recycling is when rubbish is used to make new things like wooden benches, tables and many more! Recycling can stop plastic and more harmful materials from polluting the world because the rubbish is used again and again which means that the rubbish that goes to landfill doesn’t go because the rubbish is getting used again. More rubbish means less space and that means the factories producing materials would have to burn fossil fuels which would lead to melting glaciers, rising sea levels, sinking cities and many more harmful things that could hurt the world permanently. More rubbish could also mean that there wouldn’t be much space for us to move since the world would be covered with rubbish and the Earth wouldn’t be the greenest planet in the Solar system, it would be the smelliest planet in the Solar System!

First of all, recycling prevents any physical pollution caused by the extra plastic because all the physical rubbish is being reused. If the extra plastic wasn’t used again, the plastic would’ve been loose, and the wind would probably blow the plastic into the air and it would most likely end up in a spot where we wouldn’t want to see it at, such as the ocean, where it could kill animals because the plastic was eaten by the animal.

Unfortunately, physical pollution isn’t the only type of pollution that that not recycling would contribute to. There is also air pollution that leads on to global warming, the biggest problem in 2060, back at my home. Not recycling would mean that the rubbish in landfill would break down and cause emissions of carbon dioxide which is one of the biggest causes of global warming.

Finally, recycling leaves us with more space and more materials to reuse. Because people create so much rubbish every 10 minutes, the rubbish takes up more and more space and then takes up so much space we can barely move around. Recycling would solve the problem because we are using the rubbish and turning it into something useful. I remember when I was little, I made a wonderful catapult and a target using only recycled materials. Maybe you should try to make some useful things out of recycled materials now that you know how it works.

This is why you should recycle. It can help in many ways, stopping pollution, cleaning the ecosystem because you are reusing the rubbish that was about to go to landfill. You must recycle for the Earth’s sake. You can do it, and you must. Quickly. Now Go Save the World! Reduce! Recycle! Reuse!

  3. The importance of recycling
    BY:JASH PALLEY

Hello future stewards from the 1980s, have you heard of the modern action known as recycling? I am Jash and I came from the 2060s.I argue that the modern ractice called recycling has a great importance to the planet. recycling is when you use something old like used plastic, aluminium sheet, glass, cardboard, batteries, paper and tin cans to make new product made out of the old. If we didn’t do this then it would cause climate change. Climate chang is when greenhouse gases increase the tempature of the plnet making more natural disasters, sinking cities and less water.less of pollution, air pollution and global warming and more efficiency suppport this argument.

Firstly, recycling is important because it can reduce pollution. Recycling reduces pollution by preventing physical pollution , protects living organisms and prevents dirty unhygenic living eviroments by preventing excess plastic going in sea, land and streets. This why recycling reduces pollution.

Additionally, recycling can prevent air pollution and global warming. recycling prevents air pollution by stopping rubbish going to land which breaks down and causees emmisions of carbon and methane which are not good for earth and contribute to global warming and stops global warming by preventing greenhouse gases to increase the tempature of the planet and melt glaciers to increase rate of disasters such as sinking cities, tsunami’s, earthqaukes, wildfires, drought, deforestation and more. this is why recycling prevents air pollution and global warming.

Finally, recycling is important because it can cause more effiency. It can do this by saving space, materials, time, cost and encourages creativity. recycling does this by not needing put rubbish somwhere, dont have take time putting rubbish, not needing to buy the materials to make stuff and makes people to make something like a catapult. this why recycling causes more effiency.

In, conclusion recycling is important because it prevent pollution, air pollution and global warming and causes more effiency. you are the only ones who can savve this world so you have to become stewards so what are you waiting for, lets save the world!
