A Brazilian Carnival in Mongolia
* intro music
Host: Welcome to “World News” everyone! Where every day gives you the opportunity to look into the insights across the globe. Today we’ll be looking at a Brazilian carnival in the southeastern region. Normally brazilian carnivals are hosted in brazil right? But not today because this one is going to be in Mongolia!
In southeastern Brazilian festivals, people would have all kinds of large street parties and dance competitions. A popular dance is the samba dance consisting of dancers tilting back and forth and spinning in time to the music. If you are ever watching the dance, the first thing you would probably notice is the vibrant and festive feathers that they would wear. They also wear pleated and layered skirts with sequins on it and have beads as well.
Some of you might be asking “ but what is Mongolia like?” Well we won’t be talking about the whole entire Mongolia, but the capital city of it, Ulaanbaatar! Ulaanbaatar is most famous for being the coldest capital city in the world! It can reach below zero degrees and sometimes even – 40 degrees! The scene is also beautiful with the urban landscape meeting nature. There are modern buildings contrasting the serene mountains and traditional temples. These three different scenes create a good tourist area. But what if you combined it with the festive and active Brazilian carnivals? With the tranquil surroundings in Ulaanbaatar differing from the traditional and loud festival, The tall mountains would be covered with parties playing with the snow, and the modern streets with samba dancers and dancing competitions, not forgetting the big parades.
The parades in Brazil are always very important so they make it big. They include elaborate floats with different types of faces on it believed to scare away evil spirits and the samba dancers wear bikinis as clothing to let the sun shine onto them. But since they are in Mongolia, it is cold and frosty even if there is still sunshine. The dancers won’t be able to wear bikinis as a piece of clothing since it will be way too cold. And since the snow would be in the way, the people dealing with the floats would have to change the bottom of the floats to make sure it runs smoothly.
In the end, the carnivals hosted in Mongolia would have slight changes due to the environment but the festivity and fun would still be within the festival. The serenity and nature would be out and replaced with music and joy. That’s the end of today, and see you tomorrow everyone!

Crazy News
Jakie:Good morning ladies and gentlemen, this is Jakie spoon speaking with another crazy episode of crazy news and today we are in Mongolia and apparently there is a Brazilian Festival Happening in Mongolia, and I probably l\know that you’re guys saying in your mind Whatttt?? But this is true, so let’s dive down to explore. First, what is a Brazilian Festival.Carnival is one of the largest celebrations in Brazil, and it takes place every year. It began to celebrate the beginning of the season of Lent in the Christian religion, but has evolved further to celebrate the history, culture, and traditions of the people of Brazil. How long does the carnival last ? Carnival is an annual celebration in Brazil. It lasts different amounts of time based on the region it is being celebrated in. Rio de Janeiro, for example, celebrates for a full week, while smaller celebrations may only last four or five days. The event is always held the week before the Christian holiday of Ash Wednesday, with the final full day being Fat Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday).
So now that we know what this festival is, let’s dive down. So now we are going to ask a Mongolian person about how they feel about today’s Brazilian show.
Jakie: Hello, how are you enjoying this show?
Mongolia Lady: This festival is one of the most interesting festivals i have ever seen
And they have so much music, it’s just unbelievable, the best show ever.
Jakie: Ah, another live comment that was very nice for this beautiful Festival. Camera Man, how do you feel about this festival
Camera Man: It’s quite nice, I like the music and I like they’re dancing a lot. It would be nice if I had some tricks to make it more entertaining. And don’t get me started on the food, that was the most delicious food ever.
Jakie: INterseing, let’s move onto the next person. Excuse me sir, how do you feel about this festival?
Mongolian MAn: To loud and the dancing is kinda weird, the only thing i like the food
Though.

Tim (host): Imagine a colourful Brazilian Carnival in the pristine high mountains of Mongolia. This carnival appears annually in Ulaanbaatar, and this year it will be the biggest yet. I can’t wait to experience such an amazing fusion of cultures and a vivid festival. If you keep listening, there will be details on a dance competition.
Tim (host): The colourful Brazilian Carnival is known for its unique bright colours, special music to dance to, and its amazing food. People spend the whole year designing costumes for themselves to wear just for one singular festival, before they have to create new ones. It is impossible to resist the temptation to join the street performance and dance with others. The atmosphere is electric, with dancers adorned in dazzling costumes that shimmer under the colourful lights. They begin to move, feet tapping to the syncopated rhythms that echo the heart of Brazil itself.
Tim (host): Mongolia has dream-like mountain ranges, rolling plains, beautiful native animals, and crisp, sharp air. The country is perfectly suited for a Brazilian parade. These mountains are not only breathtaking in their beauty but also rich in biodiversity and cultural significance. Two fascinating cultures could easily create rich cultural exchanges, learning a lot about each other’s beliefs, cuisine, and religion. Learning about other cultures helps us appreciate the diversity of human experiences. And although Mongolia is on the opposite side of the world, learning about each other’s cultures is still important.
Tim (host): Ulaanbaatar has generously sponsored this event, so the parades will all take place in the main city streets, such as Peace Avenue. Prepare to see the streets come alive and witness, and maybe join in, Samba dances with a costume of your own. Get ready to dance to the contagious beats of the samba. Not to mention, there is a dance-off competition in the parade. The judges will pick the top three best dancers, and they will win a free return trip to Mongolia next holiday season with their family (accommodation included).
Tim (host): Tonight, the carnival will be about cultural diversity and inclusion. It should remind us that we should all come together despite skin colour, race, or beliefs, and we should all share the joyous moment together. And remember, the dance competition starts at eight o’clock and will continue until there is a clear winner. I’ll see you all there!

A unique festival
Welcome to Ulaanbaatar known also as the capital of Mongolia where we are going to be celebrating a unique and special parade from Brazil called Rio Carnival starting from the 28th of February to the 8th of March merging two cultures together creating this new and unique parade. This parade is to celebrate the beginning of the season of Lent except it has evolved further to celebrate the history, culture, and traditions of the people of Brazil. In this context we are describing and explaining what is going to happen at the festival Rio Carnival.
In Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar the streets are filled with the vibrant spirit of Brazil and everyone is ecstatic and energetic about this specific festival. It will be one of the most crowded festivals we have had in Mongolia and twice the amount of people will come to the festival.
You will see young people dancing Brazil’s most famous dance which is Samba performed at Ulaanbaatar with other astonishing views in Mongolia. People will be people dancing Samba with bright and festive colours and will cover nearly half of the entire carnival. The views in Mongolia are stunning with a vast variety of colours lit up on the tall skyscrapers in the crimson sunset.
The parades happening in Mongolia are extremely festive which includes people wearing clothes with red, blue, purple, green and black in them. There are going to be many parades,
street parties, and the grand events hosted at the Rio carnival. Over forty six million people are attending this year and it will be one of the most unforgettable moments you will have when visiting here.
This celebration is a significant event with two countries far apart from each other merging together into an important celebration. This is how we can celebrate unity in diversity in harmony.
