I stepped forward, my shoes thumping amongst the hard grass bed. Approximately ten minutes ago, the sun shone radiantly, shining its last ray, and whispering its last songs before the celestial moon and stars took over. Now, the evening firefly glow built an enchantment and calm feeling to my yard. As I sat behind the jacaranda tree, I noticed a petite-looking door in the tree. Soon enough, a rabbit hopped out of it.
“You, Orianna, are chosen to go inside this door,” the rabbit insisted. “Crawl inside when the evening glow arrives, or now, without your sister, Essie. Collect orbs along your way to help you throughout the journey. Use your hidden powers to guide you.”
I knew that this rabbit was Rabbitoria, a rabbit key maker who had key advice. So as she instructed, I leaped through the door, collecting fire, water and air orbs as I go.
Suddenly, I was teleported to Silverstone, a city in Notia, Fairyland. A fairy with hazel, slightly curled hair and hazel eyes waved at me and smiled.
“I’m Tilly, future school captain and I will show you around your new home,” the fairy exclaimed. “It’s noon now, evening in Orient.”
Wait? New home?! Did that mean I was never going to return to planet Orient?
My plaits swished in the breeze, as if to argue.
“I need to get back to planet Orient,” I murmured, “and see Essie.”
Tilly soon replied, “Rabbitoria told me that Essie would come here whenever she needed to. You needed to enter mainland quicker, since you are in more danger than Essie is if you stay there.”
Danger? What danger?
Soon enough, Tilly showed me a newsletter saying that planet Orient was at risk of ten-year old locals being kidnapped. I was ten, as Essie was eleven.
However, I still felt the urge to come back home and tell Essie.
I brought up my hidden powers and shone a light on board for an emergency to happen. My collected orbs shone and shone and glowed and glowed until it was a bright as the evening glow. If it was not homesickness, it was sister-sickness. If eleven year-olds had the risk of getting kidnapped too, then Essie would come along together with me.
Eventually, I sent a collective orb to communicate to the Oriental gods. Essie would appear any minute now.
Essie and I may thrive in a different world.

Under the old fig tree was a golden key,
I found a golden key, but I felt that it wasn’t just any golden key. As soon as I touch the key, I felt a pulse, like if I was the chosen one and a golden light shimmer. It was decorated with small blue, shiny gems that caught the morning light like stars. I picked it up and strolled through the lush grass with each by each being flattened by my footsteps, as it pulled me gently towards a wooden door. I felt my heart pounding, like a train pounding down the tracks, as I tiptoed towards the door in cautioness.
But just when I inserted the key into the golden door knob, a golden, bright light shone on my face. Abruptly, a short-like gnome exited out of it with its blue, ocean eyes staring brightly at me.
I felt a glimpse joy inside me.
“Greetings, Fellow one!” exclaimed the gnome “I have seen that my good, old key has lead you here!”
I was too stunned to speak. Gnomes really existed?
“Oh yes, We gnomes have always been here!’ answered the gnome
“W-what, How on earth did you read my mind!” I exclaimed in disbelief
“This just our special ability!’ replied the gnome “Now if you take pleasure into, please follow me”
The gnome swiftly look left and right making sure no one was to see this great scene.
“Aight” said the gnome “Good to go”
I followed the gnome into the magical and enchanted cave. As I walk throughh the luminescent pathway, bright crystals sang melodic harmonies. Delightful, glowing flowers whispered ancient secrets, never to be heard. And wind peered through the cracks whistling to me. I felt enchantment and joy peer inside my heart, with a slight tingle of nerve slowly peering inside.
“And we’re here!” exclaimed the gnome
We were welcomed by a breath- taking scenenery. The colourful birds tuneful melody combined with golden and purple swirls of magic. I gasped, this was like a whole different world and if the ground beneath my feat had transformed into something new. I watched as the monkeys jumped onto the vines rippling it down like water, swinging to each and each vine. But what caught my eye the most was the rainbow light spiraling out, with all kinds of different butterflies fly gracefully through the sky and how clairvoyant this land was.
“Hey, why did you bring me here?” I asked
“Ough, Well I need your help” The gnome replied ” We need to get the king of gems, that is the “Red Ruby”
“Why?” I asked
“If the dark wazards end up taking the Red ruby first. “They will destroy our kingdom, therefore it is our job to get the red ruby in order to protect our land”
“Ok” I said. I didn’t know how I could do this, but I knew I had to.
“Follow me” The gnome instructed
I followed along. When we got to the green, spikey vines. The gnome jumped onto the vine, swiftly swinging from one vine to another until he land 8 metres from the ground.
“Come on!” he said
So I followed along carefully swiinging vine to vine. I felt the thorns pricking my skin and blood dripping out, but i’ve already made it this far and I wasn’t going to let that stop me from getting the Red Ruby.
“Good, now we have to get through the cave of horrors and quickly get the Red Ruby” said the gnome
We walked for a through the dark cave for a while. I was sick in my stomach, I could hear the evil sprits whispering threats to me, as I walked through the deadly pathway. I didn’t know about the gnome, but I didn’t like this at all. The cave floor was slippery, since there was a lot of moss and water. Suddenly there was a ear-splitting rumbling noise.
“What was that?” I mumbed standing completly still
“The cave is probably gonna colapse!” Shouted the gnome “Run!”
I didn’t know what was going to happen, my hear was racing. I didn’t feel joy, or magic anymore, all of the fear that was slowly inside me, rushed all at once in my heart, as if I was going to faint. Then that’s when it happened, we both escaped alive.
“No one has ever, escaped that cave before!” exclaimed the gnome
“Well we need to get the Red Ruby!” I gasped, gasping for air
“Yes, lets go”
We both ran for what seemed like for ever, but there it was. The Red ruby.
“We’ve found it!” The gnome exclaimed
“Finally!” I blurted out
The gnome picked it up. Looking at it in greatnesses.
Lets both hold it and it will carry us back
Okay
We both held the Red ruby and I teleported back to my backyard.
Upon returning from the magical and mysterious world, I felt the magic return back to me and that everything in my garden felt special. Everything was glowing. I reached into my pocket to realise that the extraordinary key faded into golden dust. I smiled, my stomach was now filled with butterflies. My perspective of the world has forever chaged because of this mystical adventure and that I’ll see the world differently through a new lens.

The Key Beneath the Tree
It was a warm autumn afternoon when Lily and Max, two curious siblings with a love for adventure, found the key. They were in their backyard, where an ancient oak tree stood, its gnarled roots stretching deep into the earth like a secret waiting to be uncovered. Max, always the one to climb trees and explore, had been the first to notice something unusual: a small, rusted key half-buried beneath the roots. It was unlike any key they had ever seen. Its intricate design, with symbols they couldn’t recognize, seemed almost… otherworldly.
“What do you think this opens?” Max asked, holding it up to the light.
Lily, the more cautious of the two, squinted at the key. “I don’t know, but we should probably keep it just in case it’s important.”
And so, the siblings tucked the key into Lily’s jacket pocket and decided to investigate further. The air had that crisp autumn chill, and the golden leaves drifted down like confetti. But as they walked toward their house, Lily couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to change.
That evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and the sky turned shades of purple and orange, Lily found herself standing by the old wardrobe in her attic. They had used it as a storage space for years, but something felt different tonight. As she stood before it, the pocket of her jacket pressed against her side, she had a strange urge to open the wardrobe.
Max had joined her, eager as always, but they both froze when Lily pulled open the wardrobe door. Behind the piles of forgotten clothes, something new had appeared: a large, ornate door, carved from dark wood, with an intricate lock that looked like it was made for the key.
“I don’t remember this being here,” Max whispered, stepping forward, his hand brushing against the cool, smooth wood.
Lily hesitated, but the pull to unlock the door was irresistible. She reached into her pocket, pulled out the mysterious key, and inserted it into the lock. It clicked, as though the door itself had been waiting for this moment, and slowly, with a creak that echoed through the house, the door swung open.
Beyond it lay an entirely different world.
The door didn’t lead to another room, but to a vast, twilight forest, filled with glowing plants and strange creatures that flitted about in the shadows. The air was thick with magic, and the ground beneath their feet hummed with an energy they couldn’t explain.
Max’s eyes lit up. “This is amazing! It’s like we’ve stepped into another world!”
Lily, more cautious, took a deep breath. “We should be careful, Max. We don’t know where we are or what’s out there.”
But Max was already a few steps ahead, his curiosity too strong to be contained. As they ventured deeper into the forest, the trees seemed to whisper in a language they couldn’t understand. The sky above them shimmered with a strange, silvery light, and the stars felt so close they could almost reach out and touch them.
Suddenly, they heard a low growl from behind a cluster of glowing mushrooms. Max’s eyes widened, but Lily pulled him back. “Something’s coming,” she whispered.
A massive creature emerged from the shadows—a wolf, but not just any wolf. It was made entirely of shimmering, translucent crystals, its fur gleaming like moonlight. Its eyes, glowing a fierce amber, locked onto the siblings.
The creature let out a low, rumbling growl, but instead of attacking, it circled them, sizing them up.
“I don’t think it wants to hurt us,” Lily said, her voice trembling slightly.
Max, ever brave, stepped forward. “What do you want?”
The wolf paused, then, to their surprise, it spoke in a deep, resonant voice. “You hold the key, child. You have unlocked the Path of the Forgotten Realms. But be warned—the key only opens one door. To leave, you must find the Door of Return before the next moonrise.”
Lily’s heart raced. “What happens if we don’t make it?”
“The realm will claim you,” the wolf said simply, before vanishing into the mist.
Panic gripped Lily’s chest. They had no idea where the Door of Return was, or even how to find it in this strange world.
As the hours passed, they journeyed through the forest, encountering creatures both beautiful and terrifying, some friendly and others hostile. They crossed rivers that seemed to move backward in time, and climbed mountains that defied gravity. But no matter how hard they searched, they couldn’t find the Door of Return.
Just as they were about to give up, they stumbled upon an ancient stone circle, glowing softly in the dark. At the center was a pedestal with a carved symbol—exactly like the one on the key. Max’s eyes widened. “This is it! This is where the key goes.”
Lily hesitated, but something deep inside her told her it was the right place. She placed the key into the pedestal, and the ground began to tremble. The stones around them started to glow brighter, and a door slowly materialized, framed by beams of light.
The siblings exchanged a glance. Without another word, they stepped through the door, and the forest faded into darkness behind them.
They found themselves back in their attic, the wardrobe door now closed, as if nothing had ever happened. The key had vanished from Lily’s hand, leaving only the faintest echo of its presence.
“Did that really just happen?” Max asked, his voice full of wonder.
Lily nodded slowly, her heart still racing. “I think… I think we’re meant to go back one day.”
Max grinned. “Then we’ll be ready for the next adventure.”
And with that, the siblings returned to their normal lives—though, deep down, they both knew that their journey was far from over. The key had opened not just a door, but a path, one that would eventually call them back when the time was right.
For now, they would wait. But the door was always there, just beyond the wardrobe, waiting for them to return.

As I was walking I stepped on something as I walked back I saw it, it was a golden key with a star on top of it. I thought What could it be for so I picked it up. As I picked it up it floated up into the sky making the star glow. As it was up in the sky a door repeated underneath it with a star on it just like the one on the key. The key dropped down with a note it said open the door with the key or else. I did not know what else would be and I had no one with me so I opened the door. The next thing I notice is I’m in a forest and I think I’m way far away from that tree that I was underneath. There was like fairies small ones but glittery ones . There were small elves walking on the ground. And there was these beautiful but ordinary flowers and in the background there was a ginormous castle. As I walked through the forest trying not to step on the tiny elves with little green hats I saw the castle guarded by a bunch of nights. I was really scared but as I waited another person came out , and it was my friend she told me that she was looking for me all around when she saw a key on the ground.
We both stuck together and kept walking towards the castle. As we asked the night politely if we could enter they said” you sound like you want to steal the princess “. They didn’t let us in so we saw a little shop over there it was kind of hard to enter but then we found the spell where you can make things bigger so we made the shop bigger. As we went inside they were dresses and there were skirts and shirts and hats and pants and shoes they were really kind of like old timey so we got some princess dresses on and acted like we were princesses. We asked the Knights again but even extra politely and they let us in. Me and my friend named Bella both went inside feeling uncomfortable wearing the dresses. As we came inside it was so beautiful there were vases with With pink roses set it up mats with beautiful shapes and colours I was really really excited. Bella Explained that we have to get out of this mess instead of going into a mess .
I agreed with Bella well of course I would but I still wanted to explore. But as we kept moving forward we saw amazing adorable horses then Bella was the one saying I really wanna stay . As we kept walking the nights caught us and said what are you doing here. ”We were just looking for the princess” we said. We kept walking until we found a room with snow a room with sand a room with water and even a room with leaves seasons area. We finally made it to the end of the castle walked up like 1000 steps and saw a princess the princess kinda looked familiar to Bella she said that this looks like her sister she did not know. As she kept going she went to the top and saw the princess and said hi I am Bella. The princess said that” I did not know who you are” As she was taking off her face mask then Bell found out it was not her sister. We asked how did you end up here she said probably the same way how you ended up here I wanted peace and quiet. ”Well that was a really terrible waste of time” I said. So we crept through the back gate without making sure the guard saw us. But as we came through the guards were like” two princesses escaping”. ”We are not princesses well we are princesses but we’re not escaping” we both shouted out at the same time. We both ran with all our might to get to the door where Bella and I came out through as we got the key and went back inside we finally arrived back at the tree that we will few that was like a nightmare of of getting chased.
” I wonder if we ever will get to explore that place again” we both said as we were walking back I said ”well that was definitely enough of a adventure”.
