Dear Diary,
Today I learnt the biggest lesson of my life. The greatest gift a man can ever receive. I would have ended up in endless torture where a monster rip by body, throw me in a lake of lava and worse. Agony in the air and bubbles of lave popping right in front of me. The temperature is burning even for Resiniferatoxin(one of the most hottest chemicals). However, thanks to this one gift I receive form the skies above I will now be saved from all of that torture and will be able to rest in a state of relaxation.
I was sitting in my mum’s car. My mum and I were having a conversation while I was gazing at the amazing view of the trees standing in the dim moonlight. Birds were figuring out what to do on their wooden houses. The nature was so unaffected by mankind and so graceful. I think it was that which made me happier. My mum and I were discussing about the selective exam(again) when she asked me if we should put in Fort Street High School or Sydney Technical High School. She was wondering about risking her last spot for a relatively high school or a lower one. I knew I had a low chance of getting in but I was determined. The happiness that derived from the nature has switched on my determination to get into a Selective School.
“I will put in a higher school and work harder to get in it!” I yelled with pride. It was at that moment that my mum was filled with joy. She got a response that she will have not expected in a million years. Me actually being determined to work hard. I was also kind of happy that I have made this decision. Now I knew that anything can be acheived with hard work. It is the pathway to success. No matter how good your coach is, you can’t be good without toil.
I plan to work hard every day harder and harder. I will sweat until there is no more prespiration to soak out left. I will try to understand just one more question. Just get one more right. Value each and every one question. I found a new form of joy. A new part of my heart has met it’s desire. Life is like a quiz. You figure things out on the way and solve each problem you have in life.
I feel so grateful that I have made this decision. I am overjoyed that I have found that determination and toil is key before my Selective Exam. I have found the information I need to overpower the Selective exam. “If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you” once said Zig Ziglar. Just like that, the Selective Exam won’t stop me from my success. I WILL become successful in getting into a Selective school.
Today was my first day in Brisbane. I have not been here in my entire life, which is quite crazy, because I have travelled to a lot of places. When we arrived, we drove straight to our hotel, which was a five star hotel called Marriott Bonvoy, Brisbane. We were really lucky, because we had almost booked one and a half levels, and everyone in our family was coming. This includes my cousins from Hong Kong, my cousins from Hobart, my aunties, and my uncles. etc
We didn’t go on a plane, because we normally take our car with us on long trips, so we don’t need to rent a car to drive around in. It took us a few days to get here, because we stopped in Coffs Harbour for three days, and we got to go to the Big Banana. It was a really boring trip, because it felt like it took literally FOREVER to get here.
We arrived here in Brisbane at around four in the afternoon. Our cousins from Hong Kong were following us the whole time with their rented car, as they were living with us in our house for a few days. They chose the same level that we were sleeping on. Our room number was in the 2000s. When we arrived, one of the staff gave us free cupcakes to enjoy, and they even gave us an extra one when one of them fell on the ground. It was a delectable treat for us. My family were very tired, and we didn’t want to do anything apart from resting for the rest of the day.
When our cousins first arrived in Sydney, Jed, the older brother, was sick. This went on to make basically everyone in our house sick. Somehow, my sister, mum, grandma and grandpa didn’t catch any sickness. I had the sickness the day we left, which made me very uncomfortable on the way. Later on, I found out that I caught Gastro, and when I recovered in Coffs Harbour, I was extremely happy.
For dinner, we went to an Italian restaurant called Corbett and Claude, and that’s where a lot of my cousins arrived. Dinner was incredible, the savoury smell of the Margherita Pizza, and spaghetti bolognese wafted in the air, making my mouth water. All of my other cousins arrived before us, because they went straight to the restaurant. At the end, we had a cake, because it was one of my cousin’s birthday, and we had a cake with no eggs and nuts, because they were allergic to them.
It was a delicious chocolate cake, and it had a really soft texture that made it melt when it touched my tongue. There were bright red strawberries placed evenly on the top, and chocolate cream in between. The strawberries were sweet and bitter, and I loved the cake a lot. There was the number ten in the middle of the cake, as my cousin was turning ten. There were also ten candles placed around the number ten, and because there were a lot of people in my family, my cousin had ordered two of the exact same cakes.
I wasn’t bothered to do anything else for a long time, because I was exhausted. Once I heard the sound of water splashing in the bathroom, I knew that the shower was almost ready for me to have a relaxing bath. The feeling of having a warm shower sent shivers down my spine, as I walked into the steaming shower. Afterwards, I put on my pyjamas, and I immediately fell to sleep without another word.

Dear diary,
I have been quite sad lately. My best friend Emily has gone and moved far away from me. The only two ways that I will be able to connect with her is by flight and using a phone. It is such a bummer. Who will I sit with at morning tea and lunch time? Will people be ok with it if I sit with them? Will other people want to be my friends? Oh, there is so many questions that I am unsure of diary.
Hold on, I have just had a thought. I can just sit with my other (kind of) friends. I am sure they would not mind if I sat with them. Oh, who knows diary. I certainly do not.
Huge and kisses
Alex.

Dear diary,
I have the best news ever. My friends said that they would love it if I sat with them. They said that they felt sad and sorry for me, so they want me to sit with them every day. They are extremely kind. So today we went down to the library and drew. It was so much fun. We got told of by Mrs Laird for laughing so much. And this afternoon I have swimming and Ariane goes to the same place that I do, so we can play together before our lessons start. That would be so much fun.
Hugs and kisses
Alex.

Dear diary,
Yesterday at swimming Ariane and I played tag and went on the monkey bars. She almost fell of. Ariane got me twice and I got her three times. After a little while of playing games, it was time to get ready for swimming lessons. After my lesson I was exhausted from all that swimming. So, I had a quick shower and then we went out to grab burgers for dinner from OMC Burgers. After dinner mum said that I could call Emily. I was so happy that I was jumping up and down with excitement. So, I called Emily, and we had a quick catch up on life. Something exciting was happening in Em’s life. She was getting a new dog. I asked how her new school was, and she said that it was really boring compared to my school. Emily said that she wishes that we could see each other more. Frequently instead of on the phone all the time. I wish that we could do that to, but it is to late. Emily has already moved, and it is done. After our call, I went to get my things ready for school and then I hopped into bed.
I will tell you lots more tomorrow diary I promise.
Hugs and kisses
Alex.

Dear diary doo,
School was super boring today. First, we had a headmaster’s assembly that lasted two whole hours. The we had maths. We are learning about percentages. Why, oh why, do percentages have to be so boring? The teachers can make it fun and turn it into a fun game, can’t they. Anyway, after maths we had morning tea, so I got to see all my friends. We talked about the talent show at the school camp that was happening next term. Jenny, Izzy, and Ariane were doing a comedy show, and I was going to sing better when I am dancing by Megan Trainor. Of course, Zeke (the winner of the talent show last year because he did a back flip) this year had to do juggling, solving a rubix cube, do a backflip, and do a side flip. Because he did all of it, it was still pretty cool, but because he did all of this he won first place again.
Hugs and kisses
Alex.
