  1. Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed students of the 1980s,

I stand before you today as a visitor from the year 2060, a time where the decisions and actions you make now will have shaped the world I call home. It is both a privilege and a necessity to address you on a matter of utmost importance: the health and future of our planet Earth.

As you sit here today, surrounded by the vibrant hues of nature, it may be difficult to imagine a future where these colors are dimmed, where the air is not as fresh, and where the rivers do not flow as freely. But I assure you, this is the reality that awaits if we do not act decisively and collectively. The phenomenon of climate change, driven largely by human activities, has brought about profound shifts in weather patterns, rising sea levels, and an increase in the frequency of extreme weather events. These changes threaten not only the environment but also the very fabric of human society, impacting agriculture, health, and economies worldwide.

However, there is hope, and it lies within each one of you. The actions you take today can steer the course towards a sustainable and flourishing future. One significant way to contribute is through recycling—a simple yet powerful practice that can have profound impacts. By recycling, you reduce the demand for new raw materials, conserve energy, and decrease pollution. It is a cycle that saves precious resources and reduces the burden on our planet.

Picture this: a world where every piece of paper, every plastic bottle, and every aluminum can is given a second life instead of languishing in a landfill. This is not just a dream; it is a reality you can help create. By committing to recycling, you take a stand for the environment, demonstrating a respect for the Earth’s finite resources and a commitment to leaving a better world for future generations.

But recycling is just one piece of the puzzle. Sustainable living encompasses a broader spectrum of choices and habits, from reducing waste to conserving energy and supporting eco-friendly products and practices. It means being mindful of how we consume and recognizing the impact our consumption has on the planet. It means choosing to walk or cycle instead of driving, turning off lights when not in use, and supporting businesses that prioritize sustainability.

I urge you to become champions of the environment, to lead by example in your communities, and inspire others to join this vital cause. Advocate for policies that protect natural habitats, support renewable energy initiatives, and educate others about the importance of sustainability. Each small action contributes to a larger movement that can transform the world.

In 2060, we have seen the fruits of such efforts. Cities have become greener, air and water quality have improved, and biodiversity is beginning to recover. These achievements are the result of the commitment of people like you, who chose to act when it mattered most.

Remember, the future is not a distant, abstract concept; it is the direct result of the choices we make today. You have the power to influence this future positively. Let us embrace this responsibility and work together to ensure that the Earth remains a vibrant home for all its inhabitants.

Thank you, and may your actions today light the path to a brighter tomorrow.

  2. Good afternoon, students of the 1980s. I came here in 2060, a time where my home was impacted greatly even though we’re only a few decades apart. I come before you to address a pressing issue—an issue we need to all resolve: the future health of our planet Earth.

It is difficult to understand, seeing as every part of this year’s nature is colourful and lively, but it is the choices people make that will significantly change our planet. Climate change will arise from these choices, thus, creating issues that can threaten our environment. These include rising temperatures, rising sea levels, increased droughts, and most importantly, the loss of our beautiful species.

But, you don’t have to worry that much. Recycling is a great way to help the environment when it is going through a crisis like this. It is really simple to do and has a big impact on our environment. From recycling, we’re one step closer to saving the environment by decreasing pollution along with saving our fauna and flora. And it is so easy to do! You just need to pick up pieces of rubbish on the floor and put it in the bin!

Envision a reality where everyone recycles and the environment is brought back to the way it should be. Imagine all the beautiful wildlife galloping and sprinting across the grassy plains while our flora sings and sways calmly along with the clean air. That is the effect of doing such a simple deed consistently.

Along with recycling, there are other things you should do to help our environment. These include supporting and using environmentally friendly materials, reducing energy consumption and convincing people to care for the environment so we have more people to get us closer to saving the environment from climate change.

So, I ask all of you to please take this opportunity to make wise decisions and continue to recycle, taking a march forward towards saving our beautiful planet Earth.

  3. I come to you from the year 2060, a time that, though it may seem far away, is rapidly approaching. I want to talk to you about something that will shape the world you live in and the world you leave behind: the planet.

In 2060, every season, Summer or Winter, is hot. It’s called climate change, and I’m sure you’ve heard of it. As we have neglected the environment, the Earth, which, in 1980 was calm, as turned into a disaster. The roads are full of sweaty people and trash. In every road you enter, you will be greeted with a huge pile of rubbish, taller than you, including plastic straws, cups and sticky, old soda cans. You might think that is okay. However, it isn’t. There’s no one diligent enough to clean it up every day.

Storms are intense than ever, and sea levels are rising, sinking many islands. While rising, it is also becoming gradually warmer, a devastating event for marine animals. Due to this, marine species are significantly declining, with the species which once thrived now endangered or even extinct. Precious resources are suffering, because of the waste and pollution generated by our collective neglect.

Recycling is helpful as plastic gets used to make another thing, resulting in decreasing amount of increase of landfill. For you to help conserve the Earth, using environmentally friendly products is the key. Wooden forks, spoons and knifes, because it is not plastic, are good for doing this. Conserving water, reducing waste, and lowering energy usage are another way to this.

You are living in the 1980s, a period of time when technology significantly developed. Although exciting, you also live in a time when climate change started to turn out serious. The future is in your hands. Whether you recycle, or ignore my speech, that choice makes a substantial difference. So as you grow into adulthood, as you make your choices about transportation, housing, food, and technology, remember that each decision matters. How you treat the Earth will determine the future.

Take this seriously. By starting now, the people in 2060 would not have to live such a horrible life. I believe that starting earlier leads to a better future. I hope you start protecting the environment now, before it’s too late.
