Scholarly Trial Test Review System
What happens inside a Top-Down Review class
Students complete their trial test at home during the week. Every Sunday session is then a structured review of that test, customised to each class's actual results. The review is never generic.
1
Meta Snapshot
Every session opens with a class-wide breakdown of accuracy by section, the hardest questions ranked, and the most common mistake types, so students instantly know what matters most.
2
Hardest Questions First
The tutor walks through the top 5 hardest questions in full, covering why each is difficult, the hidden pattern, and the fastest solving method, followed by a parallel question to lock in the skill.
3
Error Analysis
Students identify their personal mistake patterns across English, Maths, and Thinking Skills, then learn a single rule to prevent each one, gradually cutting out avoidable errors week by week.
4
Extension Challenge
Each session ends with one ultra-hard stretch question, reviewed as a class, so your child experiences what elite-level performance actually feels like under time pressure.
Scholarly Homework
Core vs Extension
Every Scholarly homework pack is split into two clear layers, keeping homework realistic for busy families while still stretching stronger students.

Is this programme suitable if my child isn't sitting a Selective school test?
Yes. This programme is built to strengthen English, Maths, and Thinking Skills foundations for every Year 5 student. The Selective test preparation is a bonus outcome of building those strong foundations at an advanced level.
How are the live online sessions run?
Classes are delivered live online in small groups via the Scholarly Learning Platform, with worked examples and interactive activities throughout. Questions are sent through the in-class chat box rather than spoken aloud.

You can reach your Success Coach 7 days a week via WhatsApp, WeChat, Scholarly Ask (live chat), or a phone call, for any questions about homework, progress, or planning.
How does the Trial Test Review work?
Students complete their trial test at home during the week at their own pace. On Sunday, the class comes together for a structured 3-hour Top-Down Review session, where the tutor analyses the class's results and goes through the hardest questions, passages, and error patterns systematically.
What happens after I enrol?
Your child's programme will appear on the Scholarly Learning Platform around a week before term starts (within 12 hours if you enrol after term has begun). Login details are sent by email, so check your spam folder. We also recommend messaging us on WhatsApp or WeChat straight after purchase so we can stay connected with you throughout the term.
How does homework work?
Every homework pack is split into Core (required) and Extension (optional extra practice). Do Core first, then Extension if time allows.
