CRUCIAL RECONSTRUCTION NEEDED ON PLAYGROUND
Dear Principle Jones, I hope everything has been great, I would like to say something in regards to the school play ground.
I would like to inform about a major issue related to our school playground which is hazardous for our young children which are frequent when it comes to playing on our dangerous playgrounds. We must ensure that when it comes to playing on a playground it is amusing and not minacious to their safety. We must take immediate action to let the kids enjoy playing on the playground instead of having to worry that something might break and injure themselves.
We should reconstruct instead of playing on a horrific playground filled with disintegrated bits and pieces of metal and dust all over our bodies, the ground and our clothes. Unfortunately, many children have been injured before and this is a major issue as the children are just trying to have a fun lunch. The current playground, marred by dilapidated equipment and outdated safety features, poses a significant threat to the children who use the equipment daily. Rather than entertaining the students at our school the playground has become a prime source for frequent injuries and parental concern. The equipment has been injuring kids more than fostering their imaginative play and their physical development. Investing in some new equipment would not only mitigate the risk of harm but will also show a value of care for their their well-being and physical needs. Replacing the old, outdated, rusty equipment is completely necessary step to cultivating a secure, enriching environment where children can thrive. Adding new equipment will ensure that children can come out and play without having to be anxious or scared but happily play freely without having to care about anything else other than their playtime. The things we can hopefully implement are: A new playground, a shade cover and some new flooring.
So principle Jones, with this appeal I hope you take this email into consideration. These are only are few reasons of why we must invest in a safe, fun and enjoyable playing space as it is essential for children to be able to have fun where the playgrounds are not detrimental towards their safety. It is crucial to meet the expectations of the safety features required to make sure that the kids at our school don’t get injured and can come to school knowing that they will be safe throughout the entire day.

REQUIRED HELP NEEDED ON PLAYGROUND, IMMEDIATELY
Hello my fellow peers and friends, I hope everything has been going well at school other than the playground, I need everyone to help me out to get rid of this terrible playground.
It is essential that we have a playground that we can play on without dying or get baked on. I am proposing that we need a new playground and some new equipment effective immediately. It is vital that every single one of us are safe when we are playing on the playgrounds. So I need help from every single person from the school.
Surely you want a new playground I mean, who doesn’t? Instead of PLAYING on the playground that we currently have, we break arms and legs. Instead of having fun on the playground, the playground is classified as detrimental towards our lives. Investing in a new playground ensures that we completely mitigate the risk of harm so that we can play freely without being injured. Would you rather have a piece of metal in your mouth with a side of dust all in your face while getting baked in the sun because there is no shade provided for us while we play.
If we do install new equipment there will be : 1. A shade cover
2. A new slide, seesaw and monkey bars
3. New flooring
These new installations will hopefully be implemented effective immediately. However, if we want these things in our playground I will everybodies help.
So, whos in with me? Instead of having to play in rocks , metal and dust, you can be playing on completely brand new playground equipment as long as I get all the help required. If you think we need these things in our school, come to room 11234 at lunch time to discuss how to persuade principal Jones to hopefully implement these required things in our school effective immediately.
Thanks a lot

Formal Letter
Dear Principal Bob,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to discuss an issue that is becoming more and more noticeable at our school—the condition of our playground. As we all know, the playground is an essential space for students to engage in physical activities, socialize, and unwind during the school day. However, it is evident that the current state of the playground is not ideal. I would like to explain why I believe we should take action and clean up our school playground, making it a safer, healthier, and more enjoyable space for all of us.
To begin with, a clean playground ensures the safety of everyone who uses it. Litter and debris can create hazards that might lead to accidents, injuries, or illnesses. Small pieces of trash can cause slips or falls, while broken or discarded items—such as sharp objects or damaged play equipment—can lead to cuts, scrapes, or even more serious injuries. Additionally, food wrappers, plastic bottles, and other refuse can attract pests like rodents or insects, which could pose health risks to students. By taking steps to clean up the playground regularly, we reduce these risks and ensure that students can enjoy their time outside without worrying about their safety.
Moreover, a tidy playground promotes a more positive environment for learning and play. When students see a clean, well-maintained area, it sends a message that the space is cared for and respected. On the other hand, a litter-strewn playground can give the impression that the space is neglected, which can affect the way students view it. A dirty playground might even discourage students from using the space altogether. By keeping the playground clean, we are more likely to create an inviting atmosphere where students feel comfortable and excited to play and socialize with their peers.
Another significant benefit of a clean playground is the sense of pride and responsibility it can instill in the students. When everyone pitches in to help keep the playground clean, it fosters a sense of ownership and pride in the space. It also teaches students valuable life skills, such as teamwork, cooperation, and environmental stewardship. By taking part in keeping the playground clean, students can learn about the importance of maintaining shared spaces and taking care of the world around them. These lessons will stay with them long after they leave the playground, shaping their attitudes toward public spaces and community involvement.
A clean playground also has a positive impact on students’ mental and emotional well-being. A cluttered, messy environment can have a negative effect on our mood and ability to focus. Conversely, clean, organized spaces are known to promote feelings of calm and happiness. A well-maintained playground encourages students to engage in physical activity, which in turn improves mental health and reduces stress. A clean and orderly environment contributes to a positive school culture, where students feel valued, safe, and respected.
Finally, cleaning up the playground can be a great opportunity to bring the school community together. Organizing a regular clean-up initiative could involve students, teachers, and staff working together toward a common goal. It could be turned into a fun, team-building event, where students are divided into groups to tackle different areas of the playground. Not only would this make the task more manageable, but it would also teach students the importance of collaboration and responsibility. Such initiatives can help strengthen the sense of community within the school.
In conclusion, cleaning and maintaining our playground is an essential part of creating a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment for all students. A clean playground promotes safety, positive behavior, and pride in our school, while also contributing to the mental and physical well-being of everyone involved. I believe that by working together as a school community, we can ensure that our playground is a place we can all enjoy, care for, and be proud of. I hope you will consider implementing regular clean-up efforts or encouraging students to take an active role in maintaining this important space.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this matter.
Sincerely,
Lucas Xie.
Not Formal Letter
Hey Principal Bob,
I hope you’re doing good! I just wanted to talk about something that’s been bothering me and a bunch of other students too — the playground. Lately, it’s been really dirty, and honestly, it’s getting kind of gross. I figured it might help to just say something, since we all spend a lot of time out there and it’s kind of a big part of the school day for a lot of us.
Every time we go outside for recess or break, there’s always trash lying around — stuff like candy wrappers, plastic bottles, empty chip bags, even random things like broken pencils or old masks. Sometimes it looks like people just dump stuff there and forget about it. It makes it harder to enjoy being outside, because you’re either stepping over garbage or trying to find a clean spot to sit or play. It’s not just annoying, it also feels kind of unsafe. You never know what someone might have left behind, and I’ve even seen people trip over stuff that shouldn’t be there.
It’s also kind of sad, because we have a great playground. It could be a really nice space if it was taken care of better. A lot of kids like hanging out there, playing games, or just relaxing for a few minutes, but when it’s dirty, people don’t want to use it as much. I think if it was cleaner, more people would enjoy it and take better care of it too.
I know it’s not just up to the school to clean everything up, and part of it is that some people just leave their trash behind. But maybe there’s a way we can all help fix it. Like, maybe there could be more trash cans around the playground, or signs reminding people to pick up after themselves. Or maybe we could even have a clean-up day once in a while, where students help out for like 10 minutes during recess. I think a lot of people would be willing to do that if it meant having a cleaner space to hang out.
I also think it would help if teachers or staff could maybe remind students every now and then to clean up after themselves. I know it might seem small, but hearing it often could make people think twice before just dropping trash on the ground.
Anyway, I’m not trying to complain too much — I just wanted to bring it up because I think a lot of people have noticed it, and it’s starting to make the playground not as fun to be in. I know you’ve got a lot to deal with, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I really appreciate everything you do for us.
Best,
Lucas Xie

Subject: Urgent Help Needed: Playground Renovation Request
Dear Ms. James,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the current state of the school playground, which has unfortunately fallen into disrepair.
What used to be a once vibrant and thriving playground is now a hazardous, uncomfortable space that no longer serves its purpose as a safe and enjoyable area for students. The swing sets have frayed and tattered ropes, while the slides have sharp, metal edges. Just yesterday, I saw a year 3 student trip on the large hole in the asphalt.
The deteriorating conditions of our playground presents three concerns:
– The safety of students: Just last week, a student in Year 5 had to go to sick-bay after falling off the swings while swinging through the air due to one of the ropes snapping.
– Our school’s reputation: If a parent saw the dilapidated conditions of the playground equipment, they would be concerned for their child’s safety and would that our school is a dangerous one. When, in reality, we are a welcoming and compassionate school.
– The impact on student’s education: Break times are a chance for students to let out all the energy from their bodies before class but if the playground is too dangerous for them to play, the only time for them to let out their energy is during class times.
I propose that we invest in comprehensive renovations as soon as possible, and hold campaigns to fundraise money. While I know that budget constraints will slow down this process, our P&C and SRC are already coming up with more fundraising initiatives for this renovation to take place.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this email. Hopefully we will be able to see our playground return to its vibrant and safe origins. I would greatly appreciate the chance to talk about this further when you find the time.
Yours sincerely,
Hillary

Subject: HELP NEEDED IMMEDIATELY – Renovating Our Playground
Hey everyone!
As you may know, our playground is in desperate need of help. This is why I think it would be great if we could convince Ms. James to renovate it!
Remember in Kindergarten when the playground was brand new? The clean, metal slide that glistened brightly in the sun? The swing sets that were all the rage? Well now, the once bustling playground is now a dilapidated wasteland, with barely anyone even using it. The slide has rust all over it and it’s so worn! And the swings? I literally saw someone in Year 5 go flying mid-air because the one of the ropes snapped and the swing broke! (He’s safe by the way!)
Surely you would like our playground to return to its original state, right? How else will we get to expirence the action-packed break times once again? Here’s how you can help:
– ideas for what you would like in our brand new playground
– help to organise some more fundraisers
– stories about accidents you’ve seen
Together we can convince Ms. James to renovate our playground. Hopefully our dreams will come true and we can look forward to playing on a playground that’s fun and full of life once again!
If you can help, stay back for a few minutes after the next SRC meeting on Wednesday. I’ll be looking forward to seeing you there!
Thanks a lot,
Hillary
