This 2024 OC Trial Test Can Help Students Perform Better

OC Trial tests are known to help with final test performance. As the official NSW government website points out too, “students will be more comfortable with the test process if they are familiar with the types of questions they may be asked.”

Meanwhile, a study by the Harvard Graduate School of Education revealed that trial tests and assessments can provide valuable data on student performance and help them do better once this information is effectively used in teaching strategies.

In line with this philosophy, we’ve developed a free OC Trial Test to assess each student’s capabilities better.

  1. How is the OC Trial Test Structured?

The OC diagnostic/sample test is a 30-minute online test designed to assess a student’s proficiency in:

1) English  (Poetry, Fiction & Evaluation) – 7 Questions

2) Maths (Number & Algebra, Measurement, Geometry) – 7 Questions

3) Thinking Skills (Pattern recognition, verbal reasoning, spatial understanding) – 7 Questions

You can take the test here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1w7zUGKpziObBnS-TyVFKtgCYfFcFpZUwRkyuJzUZgns/edit

  1. Who can take the OC Trial Test?

The OC sample test is specifically designed for Year 3 & Year 4 students who are interested in taking the OC Test in 2024 or 2025.

  1. Is Taking the OC Trial Test Really Important?

Taking the Opportunity Class (OC) trial test/ diagnostic test is highly beneficial for students for several reasons:

>  Identifying Strengths and Weaknesses: The OC trial test helps students and their educators identify specific areas of strength and areas needing improvement. This targeted approach allows for more focused and efficient study strategies.

> Familiarisation with Exam Format: This test acquaints students with the format, question types, and time constraints of the actual OC exams. This familiarity can reduce anxiety and improve time management skills during the actual exam.

> Benchmarking Progress: Our diagnostic test offers a benchmark for students, helping them and their educators to track progress over time. This is crucial in planning and adjusting study schedules and strategies.

> Enhancing Test-Taking Skills: The OC trial test can enhance general test-taking skills, such as understanding instructions, developing problem-solving strategies, and improving concentration under timed conditions.
> Boosting Confidence: By providing a clear idea of what to expect in the OC exams and where they currently stand, these tests can boost students’ confidence, which is a key factor in academic performance.

4. How Should I Assess a Child’s Performance in These Tests?

When evaluating your child’s results from these tests, it’s useful to measure their scores against both the average and the top scores within their group. Generally, a score that surpasses the group’s average can be seen as a commendable performance.

5. When do I receive the results?

Our team will get back to you with a performance report within a few days of your child sitting the test.

  1. Who Can I talk to about my child’s results?

One of our academic advisors will get in touch with you, should you need to discuss your child’s performance and prospects. Please reach out to us here to book a slot: https://scholarlytraining.com/whatsapp
