Imagine a mysterious object has appeared! It can be anything you like – a faded locket, a peculiar key, an old map, or even a talking garden gnome. This object holds a secret that is deeply connected to your main character’s hidden feelings or true intentions.
Write a short story, around 400 words, where this object becomes central to the plot. Explore the perspectives of at least two different characters, showing how they each see and feel about the object. What does it reveal about them? Build up to a big, unexpected surprise at the end that changes everything they thought they knew about the object or each other.
