Snowballs
It was cold and snowy, the snow was like a hurricane, as it swirled and twirled everywhere in the air, but that didn’t stop one young kid from making some mischief. Whenever people walked on the streets they would bring umbrellas so that snow doesn’t get onto them, but snow would always get onto them if they passed by one particular house. The boy that lived there loved to make super duper large snowballs, the size of a door, then there would be a shout that said “Hey, Who threw that or I’m going to get that little rat!”, because they would be talking about ME (Xander).
I would throw snowballs at anyone who passes on my territory, or even is close to my house!
Then one day when Xander was about to hit someone on the head with his giant snowballs, someone else hit him! “Hey, who did that, the only one who can throw snowballs is ME.” (Bob) “That would be me who threw that snowball bub.” “Well,Well,Well, I guess we can only settle who gets to throw snowballs, in this town with a… SNOWBALL FIGHT!!! (Commentator) “Set up your territory, but only with snow, everyone.” “On your marks, Get set… THROw YOUR SNOWBALLS, the first one to get a brain freeze loses and the opponent wins! Snowballs were crazy, there was a crowd watching to see who won, but it was a close match……………

The coffee shop buzzed quietly with muted chatter, the rhythmic clinking of ceramic mugs, and the hiss of the espresso machine blending into a soothing, familiar symphony. Luna sat in the corner, the steam from her untouched latte curling lazily into the air, just like the anxious thoughts swirling in her mind. She looked up at the clock, counting down the minutes until her meeting. It was almost time—almost time to deliver the presentation she had painstakingly prepared, to prove that her ideas were worthy. Nearly time for the words she’d practiced to have meaning.
Her fingers tapped nervously against the small, rusty table; each tap a gentle punctuation of her self-doubt. What if they don’t like it? What if they think I’m not enough? She was a master at hiding her insecurities, a perfectionist who worked tirelessly to avoid failure at all costs. But today, the weight of her anxiety felt heavier than the polished laptop bag she clutched to her chest.
The door chimed as a customer entered, the bright, fresh smell of cinnamon filling the air. Luna caught a glimpse of her own reflection in the glass door—her shoulders hunched, her brow furrowed. She didn’t look like the confident professional she wanted to be. She looked like someone on the verge of disappearing.
Just then, a voice—smooth, confident—cut through her thoughts. “Luna? You’re up next, right?”
It was Sarah from the recruitment company, standing at the counter, a warm smile spreading across her face. Sarah was everything Luna wasn’t: open, outgoing, secure. But Sarah didn’t seem to notice Luna’s tight-lipped hesitation.
“Don’t worry,” Sarah said, squeezing Luna’s shoulder. “You’ve got this.”
And for the first time in weeks, Luna believed it. The fear didn’t vanish, but it started to shrink, nudged by the quiet courage Sarah had lent her.

Fire incident made everyone crazy!
Salisha, a fiery, fast-footed, red-haired girl, loved playing more than anything – more than chocolate cake, cartoons or even sleep! Every lunch break she becomes the queen of triple trouble at school. One scorching afternoon during lunch break, Salisha and her friends were playing a game called 5 stones. The playground echoed with cheers and laughter as each of them progressed to the next level until something dangerous happened. Salisha accidentally rubbed two stones together, without realizing it could cause fire. A spark ignited and quickly spread across the dry grass like a hungry beast.
“Salisha, STOP! The school will turn into ashes if we let it spread anymore!” a friend frantically shouted.
“Oh no!” Salisha cried, her hands trembling. “What will the school administrator say? Will they expel me?”
Everyone in the school who noticed this was screaming, crying and started running around to save themselves. The evacuation alarm wailed with a sharp Whoop Whoop! The flames raced across the wooden floorboards of the main school building. Smoke covered the sky, turning it grey. The whole school groaned, as if it was weeping for help. Everyone bolted to the green, grassy hilltop-heart pounding like a tribal drum and lungs gasping anxiously. Seeing the situation getting out of control, an elderly teacher dialed triple 0.
Within minutes, ten blazing-red fire trucks zoomed in the car park-tires screeching, sirens wailing. The fire was so massive that the firefighters had to unleash the MEGA hose which blasted water like a furious dragon. It took hours of battle, until the fire was finally tamed.
The school, though, was toasted. The school principal, Mr Bottoms, who usually smiles like sunshine, turned stormy with fury. He swivelled around with a face redder than a tomato towards the group of children behind him.
“Who caused this?” He roared, checking all the security cameras, and found it was Salisha. His eyes narrowed,” Pay me 10000 dollars by the end of the week.”
“TEN THOUSAND?” Salisha gulped. “I have been saving for years; I might have. If not, I will work to get the rest.”
And she meant it. She washed every dish, made the beds, walked dogs, mowed lawns, folded laundry and every other chore imaginable! She turned her guilt into grit. By the week’s end, she slapped the cash on the principal’s desk with a proud smile. “Let’s rebuild.”
A couple of months of zoom schooling later, the school was finally rebuilt. Salisha was so happy, and she hoped that the fire incident would never happen again, especially when playing a silly stone game without realizing.

Once apon a time there lived a boy called Varun he was very timid and loved to read. He lives with both of his parents in a old libary. They were very poor and the only meal they got was dinner. Even though they had hardships they all remained positive.
One stormy day when Varun was walking back from school a strange little animal walked in front of him. This peculiar looking animal trotted around him, it had 4 eyes, 3 legs and one enormous horn. It carried a neatly folded envolope, written in it was ‘Follow this map and it will lead you to treasure’ below this writing was a map, underneath it in small print it wrote ‘If you wish to put your life on the line for treasure this is for you’. Varun always wanted to have a normal life like his friends, so he instantly accepted. Suddenly a bright blue light envolped him. Whoosh, he was gone without a trace!
Varun watched his surrounding curiously looking at the fanstaical wildlife. As he watched all the animals he noticed they were all unqiue. Varun realized that he was clutching the map now it had a new font and writing on it, he read the writing ‘You have now entered the land of Mystepia, follow the map and complete the quest and you shall be set free with treasure’. Scanning the map he saw the quest ‘Find this animal’ below it was a picture of a hybrid bird. Imeadeatily a camera popped in his hands, and he knew that he ha to take a photo of the animal.
He began the journey through a forest spotting some disturbing animals. Slithering past the undiscovered flora and fauna. While discovering through the jungle a big elephant lion hybrid spotted him, Varun ran for his life, running faster than ever before. Struggling to maintain his energy he slowed down and looked behind him; nothing was there. But then suddenly the hybrid pounced knashing its teeth, nearly costing him his leg. The lion pounced again, this time he knew it would be the end of him, but the lion stopped and loooked to the side and spotted an atelope. Running at top speed the lion jumped at the antellope brutaly murdering it for food. While Varun saw this madness, at the corner of his eye, the same strange bird on the map fluttered past. Fumbling with the camera trying to get a picture, aiming at the bird. Click!
Varun jolted back to life while embarresly stood as his parents watched him in aue. His parents asked “How do you have so much money”. Then Varun realised that he had completed the qeuest. They were all happy and lived a normal life.

The Quiet Library
I was sitting there motionless, flipping through a random graphic novel, when out of nowhere, Mrs. J called out,
“Ayman, have you returned your Peppa Pig book?”
I replied, “Not yet. I’ll bring it back tomorrow.”
She narrowed her eyes and said with a smirk,
“You better have it, or there will be serious consequences.”
The bell rang. I rushed downstairs and headed home, dreading the reaction of my overly strict parents. As I opened the door, I was met with scowls.
“WHY IS THE LIBRARY BOOK STILL ON YOUR DESK?” they growled.
Panicking, I sprinted like Wally West to the table. Sure enough, the book was still there, mocking me.
The Next Day
I woke up, brushed my teeth, ate breakfast, and got ready for school. Something felt off — like I’d forgotten something important — but I brushed it aside and jumped into the car.
As we pulled into the school gates, the realization hit me like a thunderbolt.
I had forgotten the library book. Again.
The moment we stopped, my mother’s anger exploded. In front of everyone, she struck me. The marks were clear. The pain, worse. I didn’t want to call her “Mum” anymore.
Mrs. J noticed the bruises immediately. Without a word, she grabbed my arm and took me straight to the head office.
They asked me what happened, but I struggled to explain it properly. They dismissed my explanation and called home.
Later that evening, I returned to more anger, more punishment. I didn’t cry — I just endured it.
Eventually, I crawled into bed, aching in every limb, and stared at the small object on my desk that had caused it all.
A library book.

Warrior
Achilles kicked the ball around the soccer field. He only had one good friend, and that was ballo, his soccer ball. He knew that as soon as that school bell rang, the boys in the school would tease and mock him until he was a wilted flower. No, not a flower, a weed, small, and flimsy. Nothing to protect it. That was why Achilles would always come home late, and with his head down. He was actually named after a Greek Mythical Warrior, but no, he was no warrior. He was a cowardly duck. Scared to stand up for himself.
One day, he came home with bruises on his back, and arms. His overprotective mother, Sarah, looked at the bruises, and cooed over her teenage son.
“What is the matter? Achilles, what has been happening at your school?” his mother’s soft, rolling portuguese accent.
“Nothing, ma, nothing.”answered Achillies, trying to hide the bruises. The boys had been punching him, and throwing pebbles at him.
“Oh my dear, you’ve got to tell me what the boys are doing.” Achilles blurted out all the things in less than a minute, his mother shocked in disbelief.
“Achilles,”Sarah said, as she stroked her son’s hair. “You have to stand up to them. Tomorrow, I will go see the principal.” Sarah’s eyes were full of tears.
The next day, Sarah escorted her son into the school, before marching into the office. The boys bullying Achilles were not in class when the bell rang. He wondered where they were. Soon after they finished doing their English comprehensions, the gang of boys trudged into the classroom. They didn’t speak a word, but, boy, they seemed angry. Achilles could feel the fury in their every step. They glared at Achilles, and then sat down at their desks.
“Where have you been? Boys? We just finished our Comprehension!”
“We were at the principal’s office, Ma’am.”
“Stirring up trouble again? You guys and trouble are synonyms.”The teacher muttered the last bit under her breath.
At lunch, the boys were on the oval waiting for Achilles.
“Dude. You think you’d be smart enough to tell you little mummy ‘ey? Well, no. We got into trouble, but who cares? Next time you tell on us, you’ll regret it.
“I may be small, but I have a mighty heart! I won’t stop pursuing my dream, and nothing, especially you old bunch of weirdos can stop me!” All the boys were surprised, and walked away. Achilles smiled with satisfaction, and started dribbling his soccer ball.
