I’m 9, I’m with my dad and we are going to the amusement park. I see the ticket man and he says ‘Tickets for you and your son?’ to my dad, ‘Yes!’ replied my dad. When we went into the amusement park, I see the gigantic ferris wheel and the monsterously steep slide. I smell and taste some of the delicious hotdogs and pizza’s. The height checker said I have to go in the small kids zone. I hear the screeching and squealing of 5 year olds getting excited or cry because of a scary ride. I feel bored and I would rather be at home, I don’t belong here. I see dad sitting at the “ADULTS ONLY” gambling section, he plays the game with playing cards he loses his luck and money every turn, eventually he had no more money to gamble.

A stall dusty, old, untouched, a man sits inside, a pack of cards in his hand, a bundle of money in the other. People stream out, heads down, shoulders slumping, legs moving lazily. In great contrast to their surroundings, laughing, playing, eating. Heads held high, money spent wisely, prizes won. Children are streaming in and out of the slide, vomiting after their 5th go, parents sighing and walking their children outside.

The sweet smell of candy floss wafted through the air as a entered the carnival. Last time I entered the fair ground was when I was three and brightly coloured stalls haven’t changed since. The taste of a churro invades my mouth as gravel crunches beneath my feet. I start to wonder why I would ever enjoy this whilst the melody of the merry-go-round rings in my ear, when I grunts of disappointment coming from the games. I walk past the stack of tin cans and see tubes and tubes of super glue, I couldn’t believe it was all a fake.

I haven’t entered the fairgrounds since I found out the magicians’ card tricks weren’t done with a regular set of cards. The brightly coloured stalls haven’t changed since then, and the addicting taste of churros haven’t changed either. As the gravel crunches and the melody of the merry-go-round rings in my ear, I can’t stop thinking about the lies the cards told and how the magicians just went along with it. Grunts of disappointment arise from the games, so I go to study, and as I walk past I spot a true horror. Tubes on tubes of super glue, this must be the carnies playing cards.

As I stepped on the rusty steeped floor of the fair workers greeted me with courage with soft tickets that felt like pillows. I saw the burgers filled the aroma as I started to mouthwater in delight as people munched on them as if they were a tiger. There was a long roller coaster that was I eager to complete so as I hopped on I felt as fast as a cheetah as the other rides that were in this mystery world kept on saying bye as I kept going. After the terrifying ride I wanted to take a breather, so I had some ice-cream that was candy dimension as it had lots of toppings along with a bitter cream that sensed the air. Overall, I had a very scary but interesting day with many opportunities!

The air is thick with cinnamon and pepper curling into her nose bringing old memories back to life. Her hand passes through hand grinded spices as her eyes catches the sight of a bird she remember it from her childhood before the fire, before the betrayal . Suddenly she sees the bird being brought up to a cage , that cage isn’t just metal it is a mirror and today it represents her own emptiness . She watches the bird flap once, then sit still, its wings too tired to fly.
The sky above her is grey and heavy, like it’s holding back tears.

Now the bird is trapped in a cage, its wings folded tight. The cage is shiny like a mirror, showing her own face—quiet, lost, and alone. The bird in the cage is like her heart: once free, now stuck in a place that doesn’t feel like home.
The bird in the cage represents how the character feels trapped and unable to escape her past.

The crowd was moving constantly in different directions, so I couldn’t keep up with my parents. I eventually manoeuvred my way through the crowd. The air was thick with excitement, children bolted to various kinds of food stalls where parents were running after them. The cheers of victory deafened my ears whenever children had won a game and received a prize. The park was filled with lively chatter and the flashing glow of neon lights, the bright banners and lively music made even the entrance feel magical. In spite of my parents’ busy work schedule, they still wanted to touch grass. My dad was an IT manager who was delighted to see all the laughter and fun, so he decided to try some of the kids’ activities as well!

As Bob walked across the yellow patch of ground that had been walked over earlier that day, it was walked over and over again. At the bottom layer, it looks like the bottom of the sand pit. The people filled every space of the huge theme park. There was a bird in the cage, and anybody who looked at it filled their hearts with the knowledge that they’re going to have a good day. Bob saw a box of matches and lit it to scare off the bad luck. The red flags indicate the theme park’s place and stacks of cards almost at every stand where people often get tricked, but some know the trick. Bob knows this is going to be the biggest theme park this year
