  1. From Rick’s POV

Rick signed up to be a visitor of the Samsung Lab. The entrance is a sliding glass door like a portal to another world. Rick stepped forward. As he did so, the portal opened, and a voice said something with no expression.

    “Welcome, visitor.”

Rick jumped backwards in shock, barely having his footing before he fell on the ground, and he almost spilled his coffee and stained his leather jacket.

    “Yikes!” cried Rick.

    From the Lab Manager’s POV

The Lab Manager, Dr Park, was watching Rick fall backwards from a security camera. He told the Secretary of Samsung to call the cleaning staff after the visitor leaves. As Dr Park was looking through the visitor list on his computer, Dr Park realised that the visitor was Rick. Dr Park can tell that Rick didn’t know the etiquette in this lab.

“We should have planned an orientation session,” Dr Park muttered.

    From the Technician’s POV

The technician, Sam Sung, was standing next to a fridge with a smartphone display.

“Our visitor is absolutely bewildered after each encounter with a piece of our advanced technology,” he thought.

    From Rick’s POV

The next piece of technology Rick came to was the fridge with a smartphone display that Sam Sung was standing next to.

“Hello? Can you hear me?” Rick said with doubt and anxiety.

    From the Technician’s POV

“This is not how you talk to this fridge,” explained Sam Sung. “You say, ‘Hey Fridgebot!’”

“Is this fridge called ‘Fridgebot’?” Rick asked.

“Yes,” replied the technician. “Or more precisely, the Samsung Fridgebot Alpha 1.2.”

    “Well, what does it do?”

“It can do all sorts of things a phone can. It even has artificial intelligence!”

    “Awesome!”

    From Rick’s POV

    “Hey Fridgebot!” Rick exclaimed.

“How can I help you?” Fridgebot replied back.

“I sense that you are hungry, and you are lacking in Vitamin C. May I add fresh vegetables to your shopping list?”

“You sound like my mother! Always asking me to eat vegetables!”

    From the Lab Manager’s POV

“Rick discovered a software bug in Fridgebot; it can’t stand roasts!” he thought.

Dr Park saw Rick talking to the cleaner’s vacuum cleaner.

“Perhaps we should hire him as a product tester,” he muttered.

    From Rick’s POV

Rick spilled his coffee after the vacuum cleaner. He refilled his coffee mug with perfectly brewed coffee made by a robot.

“You know, “I reckon I get it now. All this fancy tech isn’t just for showing; it’s about making life easier.”

He watched as the vacuum cleaner quietly cleaned up his earlier mess.

    From the Lab Manager’s POV

“You are right: technology is supposed to make life easier. Let’s say you came home from work. The thermostat is turned on and dinner is ready without lifting a finger,” Dr Park said calmly.

    Rick’s Tech Adventure

  2. A Day at the Samsung Lab

Rick was unsure about how the day was going to turn out. He had signed up for a tour at the Samsung Lab after seeing it advertised in a printed newspaper article. He was the sort of person who preferred the olden day style like using a TV remote and having doors that you just push and walk through. So, when the day came, he had a feeling that he was going to be invaded by manipulative technology.

    Point of View: Lab Inspector
I have been working here ever since the lab has opened. Though, never have I seen a person so uneducated about technology. He mentioned his name as Rick, a sixty-seven-year-old. When entering the lab Rick attempted pushing the door. The doors at our lab are automatic, and they open whenever someone says ‘open.’ I rushed to help him through the door and he thanked me in return. As he walked away, I heard him mutter something about how stupid that door was.

    Point of View: Guide
I was leading my tour group, showing them the high technology, letting them try the demos and in return, they were astonished by the reliability. One person in particular caught my eye. He did not look like someone to be in our generation. When showing the group the Smart TV, he was struggling a lot. I recall him trying to find the TV remote. The Smart TV uses voice recognition, though the act was so funny that I could not be bothered to tell him. Later a young couple turned on the TV by simply saying the words, “Turn On.” The look on the old man’s face was hysterical.
“Why would anyone make something like that, back when I was young, we used to just turn on the television by clicking buttons,” he exclaimed.

    Point of View: Rick
I certainly cannot think of one reason why anyone would make something so complicated like this. Despite it being a headache to turn on a simple TV, it fascinates me to see the world has developed a whole lot since the 2013’s. Wait, does that mean that I am old and wrinkly. Times have certainly changed and soon later, the toaster will be giving me life advice.

  3. As Rick entered the lab, he was met with an overwhelming blend of sleek, minimalist design and an array of advanced gadgets. The walls were lined with holographic displays projecting real-time data flows, algorithms, and engineering concepts. Drones zip-lined above, delivering equipment to various workstations, while autonomous robots swirled around, assisting technicians with their tasks.

“Is this really how tech looks in the future?” Rick thought to himself, his heart racing with excitement. He made his way to a central hub where futuristic gadgets and devices were arrayed. His eyes fell upon a pair of sleek AR glasses. Curious, he picked them up and placed them on his face. Instantly, the surroundings transformed—digital annotations floated in front of him, labeling equipment and providing instant data.

    A Technician’s Perspective

In the corner of the lab, Elena, a technician, observed Rick with a blend of intrigue and amusement. “First-time visitors always react like that,” she chuckled to herself. With years of experience in the lab, she understood the awe that technological advancements evoked. After completing her work on a robotic arm, she approached Rick, who was now navigating through augmented reality menus.

“Looks like you’re getting a hang of our AR interface,” she remarked. “That’s designed to help you learn without needing manuals. What do you think?”

Rick turned, enthusiasm lighting up his face. “This is incredible! I can see specs and functionalities right here! It’s like stepping into a sci-fi movie!”

Elena smiled, appreciating his excitement. “That’s exactly what we aim for. Here, we merge technology with creativity. This lab is where imagination meets practicality.”

    Interactions with the Equipment
Driven by curiosity, Rick moved to a multi-functional 3D printer that towered beside him. The printer featured an interactive holographic interface, allowing users to modify designs in real time. Intrigued, he guided the interface with gestures, altering the specifications of a smartphone prototype.

“Did you know you could customize your own device right here?” Elena informed him, demonstrating how to tweak the prototype’s shape and color.

Rick watched, amazed. “This would revolutionize how we think about personalization in technology. Why choose a device when you can create your own?”

Elena nodded. “Exactly! In our lab, we envision technology that isn’t just a tool—it’s an extension of who you are.”

    Lab Inspectors’ Observations

Meanwhile, a pair of lab inspectors roamed the floor, meticulously evaluating the lab’s compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Mark, a senior inspector, observed Rick’s enthusiastic exploration. “Look at that one,” he nodded towards Rick. “He’s completely absorbed in the tech. It’s good to see genuine interest in the innovations we facilitate here.”

His colleague, Sara, smiled. “Definitely. But we need to ensure that while the excitement exists, safety protocols are upheld. This lab is a playground of sorts, but it’s crucial that visitors understand the importance of respecting the equipment.”

Mark added, “We’re also here to ensure that the technology aligns with ethical standards. It’s vital that innovations like these not only advance society but do so responsibly. We live in a day and age where technology needs to be developed with the utmost consideration for its impact.”

    A Concluding Reflection

As the day unfolded, Rick marveled at the endless possibilities the lab presented. From creating his own device to understanding AI integration, he forged a connection with the technology that filled the space. He engaged deeply with Elena, discussing concepts that stretched beyond current technology and into dreams of the future.

Before he left, Rick promised himself to stay connected to the innovations he had witnessed. He realized that technology wasn’t merely about gadgets—it was about collaboration, imagination, and a vision for a future enhanced by human creativity.

As he exited the lab, he turned back, catching Elena’s eye. “I can’t wait to return and see what else you’re working on here!”

And as the lab continued to pulsate with energy, the shared belief that they were all co-creators of a brave new world lingered in the air, binding technician, inspector, and visitor in an unspoken promise of progress and understanding.

  4. Stepping into the newly built Samsung lab felt as if he was entering into a whole new universe. As he entered, he was flabbergasted by all the technology that he never knew existed. From talking fridges and self-vacuuming vacuums to AI dogs and folding phones he was overwhelmed by all the new technology that he has been unaware of all this time.

As he was looking around, he passed a fridge.

It screamed out “Would you like me to add milk to your grocery list.”

Rick jumped back and fell to the ground in shock. He screamed and the next second there was a robot standing next to him ready to aid him if he was hurt.

“Are you okay sir?” Questioned the robot

“Yes, I am doing great can you please leave me alone now, that would be even better” Rick insisted

Then the robot left. But little did Rick know he was being watched by the technician Jaxon and the lab manager Lachlan by hundreds of cameras and they were cracking up because of the way Rick was reacting to all of the tech tools.

Next was the phone section, this is what Rick was most excited about because he really needed a new phone. He has been using the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge for around 9 years now and the screen was so cracked you could barely see anything on the phone. He found a phone that he really liked because it looked new but was not hard to use compared to the newer phones.

But when he saw the price tag, he immediately put the phone down and went in the direction of the exit. He went through the scanner and when he was about to exit the building he bumped into Jaxon and Lachlan

    “Oh sorry” Rick said

    “ It’s ok” Lachlan replied

“We saw you checking out the phones and you seemed to really like one of them, may we know why you did not buy it?” questioned Jaxon

Rick was hesitant at first but then explained how the cost was out of his budget and was way too expensive for him.
Then Lachlan looked at Jaxon and nodded and then from behind his brought the phone that Rick was looking at and said we are happy to give you a discount for the phone. Only if you still want to buy it.

“Thank you, I would love to buy it.” he enthusiastically replied.

“Then we have a deal, how about instead of $875 we will give it to you for $600?” Lachlan responded.

Rick agreed and pulled out $600 from his wallet and exchanged it for the phone.

“Thank you again” Rick said appreciatively

“You’re welcome” Jaxon and Lachlan replied at the same time

Then Rick was with his new phone and a day he would never forget.
