Writing is 25% of the 2027 Selective test, and it is the section most Year 5 students have never been taught. Ten mornings in a row, one hour each, with a written piece and feedback in every session so each day's correction is applied the next day.

From 2027 Writing carries the same weight as each of the other three sections. It is also the only section marked by a person against criteria.
Writing more does not raise the score
Students who write pages stay on the same mark because nobody has shown them what the criteria reward: structure, ideas, language and mechanics.
The test is written by Cambridge
The prompt is unseen, the stimulus is cold, and the marking follows Cambridge style criteria. Training on those criteria is the whole game.
Ten consecutive days beat ten scattered weeks
A correction given on Monday is used on Tuesday. That loop is what moves a writing score, and it only happens when the sessions are back to back.
Why ten days? Because the next attempt matters.
Feedback on its own does not change a score. A student has to get the correction while the piece is still fresh, then write again with that correction in mind. That loop is what moves writing, and it only happens when the sessions are back to back.
Over ten mornings your child plans, writes, gets feedback and writes again, every day, across narrative, persuasive and feature articles. By Day 10 the plan is automatic and the criteria are familiar, which is exactly the state you want walking into Term 4.

No refunds will be issued for change of mind, scheduling conflicts, or failure to attend. Enrolments cannot be transferred or deferred.
Refunds will be provided where required under the Australian Consumer Law, for example, if the course is cancelled by the centre.
Questions parents ask
Does Writing clash with the subject boosters?+
No. Writing runs 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and the earliest booster starts at 9:00 AM, so it fits alongside any subject in either week.
Are sessions recorded?+
No. Zoom Holiday programmes are live only and there are no recordings. Please confirm your child can attend every session before enrolling.

What does my child need?+
A device with Zoom and a working camera and microphone, a quiet space, and pen and paper. All materials are provided in class.
