Level 1. All students should wear school uniforms.
Level 2. All students should definitely wear school uniforms since it makes sure that all students are the same in what they wear no matter who they are or where they come from.
Level 3. All students should most definitely wear school uniforms. This is because everyone deserves to have an equal chance in education no matter what their heritage or nationality is, and every student wearing the same school uniform can show this. For example, if you come from a poor family and go to school, you do not want to stick out from everyone else just because of this. When everyone is wearing the same uniform as you then you will be able to fit in and feel welcome.

Picture this, you are an eight year old student at a school which allows children to use phones at school. All day you sit, ignoring all that the teacher is teaching and explaining, with your eyes completely glued to your screen in a mesmerised trance. You are unable to tear your sight away even though your eyes are watering and they sting so much that you want to cry. So there you sit in agony and in immeasurable suffering. Having mobile devices at school can be extremely negative to both the teachers and students. The teacher is unable to get the children’s attention and the children are unable to focus on what the teacher is explaining and instructing. This can cause children to fail at school and get horrible marks in assessments. In fact, a recent study conducted by the famous educational leader and researcher Thomas Gom proved that students in schools which allowed mobile phones did, on average, eighty percent worse in assessments and exams than the students in schools which did not. Is putting children through all this agony and failure really worth a device that is mostly unnecessary anyway?

1. Exercise should be compulsory.
2. Exercise should be most certainly be compulsory everywhere because it improves people’s health and reduces the chance of cancer or other serious diseases like pneumonia and the flu.
3. Envision a world where people are coughing on the cracked pavements of the dystopian world. Their lungs are burning from lack of fresh air due to illness and they have gotten used to the constant, excruciating pain throbbing in their lifeless faces. Once renowned as one of the most famous hospitals in the world, for their care and reliability, now is packed with disease. Humans crowd into a singular room, barely enough space to move around. Doctors rush all over the place, unable to attend to all their dying patients, with some becoming victims of the disease themselves. The white walls, once clean and immaculate, now are barely recognisable with all the vomit and blooding drying there. Is this your vision for a flawless, perfect world? It will become that if us humans don’t exercise. Exercise should be compulsory for all of us for three main reasons. It improves muscle strength, it escalates people’s health and it makes humans less prone to dangerous diseases and cancer.

Imagine a world where people are constantly glued to their phones, their eyes never leaving the screen. Conversations are interrupted by the constant buzz of notifications, and real-world interactions have taken a backseat to digital distractions. It’s hard to remember the last time someone wasn’t scrolling through social media or mindlessly checking their apps, unable to resist the urge to stay connected. What once seemed like a tool to enhance communication has now become a barrier, isolating people from the present moment and the people around them. This addiction to our phones is affecting not just our social lives, but also our mental and physical well-being. It’s time we recognize the dangers of phone addiction. It steals our time, distorts our reality, and makes it harder to focus on what truly matters. Breaking free from this cycle is crucial for our health, relationships, and overall happiness.

Transformation exercise:
Level 1:
Cost of living is too high
Level 2:
The ridiculous prices of living is becoming too high for families to afford and is forcing many families to take desperate measures such as risky company startups and moving homes.
Level 3:
Cost of living prices are skyrocketing and are forcing many families that once had financial security to take extreme and desperate measures in terms of physical and financial decisions so to be safe that their finances would be secure. This comes in the form of resisting children from taking out of school activities or moving houses due to financial stress in maintaining a high market value home. Studies by the Commonwealth Bank show that families are storing more money and are taking more risks in the finance sector like company startups to ease the cost of living pressures in their household.
Interrogation challenge:
Picture this, you are the father of a stable middle class household. One day, you receive a call from your bank reminding you that taxes are due. You log on to your computer and check your taxes. The taxes are over 5% more expensive the ones last month. You think it is a mistake and check with your bank and examine the tax details. There is no mistake. If this goes on, your family will no longer be a stable middle class family but a struggling family trying to stay in the middle class. This is the harsh reality of a rising cost of living. Over the last 5 years the overall cost of living has skyrocketed by about 50%. A insight into data recorded by the Commonwealth Bank Australia shows that more and more people, especially people that are recorded as parents or guardians of a child, are taking more and more risks in finance. This is in the form of more company startups and more people selling their homes and moving to a one with a lower market price due to the price of sustaining their original home. All of this tedious work normally doesn’t pay off and families are forced into a state where luck determines if they go into poverty or not. Is it really necessary for families to have to go through this? Do people really have to move homes and take life threatening risks just to ease the pressures? Is it really necessary to rise the cost of living?

Task 2: Homework should be compulsory because it directly shapes a student’s future. Studies show that students who complete homework consistently score higher on tests and perform better in school. But the impact goes beyond grades. Homework teaches students responsibility, time management, and perseverance—qualities that will help them in every area of life. Without it, students miss out on learning the discipline needed to succeed in the real world. Making homework mandatory isn’t just impacting a young and innocent student’s academical performance, but it also robs their chance of tackling challenges, building strong work habits, and ultimately what the dream of.

Transformation Exercise:
Take a simple argument and develop it through three levels of sophistication using the PRISM approach.
Argument: ‘Should junk food be banned from schools?’
Basic Approach: Absence of junk food within schools can significantly impact the physical and mental health of students positively, encouraging an overall healthier and better environment for both teachers and students to learn and grow.
Enhanced Approach: The availability of junk food in schools continues to raise serious concerns about pupils’ physical and mental health. Studies indicate that junk food’s high levels of energy content and amounts of fats, sugars, sodium, and chemical additives correlates with a 30-60% increase in the likelihood of obesity and chronic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, high blood sugar, and additional heart-related health problems that can be detrimental towards adolescent bodily development.
Advanced Synthesis: Hidden beneath the addictive waves of savoury and sweet foods glistening with sugar, and mouth-watering fast food meals packed with excessive fats and carbohydrates, is the merciless monster of junk foods, gradually plaguing the halls of our history and ensnaring the future of our schools within its callous clasp. Research conducted by the Journal of School Health concluded that children who consumed junk food regularly at school had a 50% higher likelihood of developing obesity compared to those who consumed healthier food options. Furthermore, these students were also 20% more likely to experience long-term health issues such as Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, according to a study published in the American Journal of Public Health, students who consumed junk food on a daily basis were 40% more likely to experience the symptoms of mental disorders such as depression and anxiety. With the ability to diminish this nightmarish prophecy from becoming reality of our future generations still within our grasp, it is our responsibility to reduce the current impact that junk foods currently have on the lives of our children.
Integration Challenge:
Combine statistical evidence, emotional appeal, and rhetorical devices in a single coherent paragraph.
Argument: ‘Is it better to have a fixed bedtime for children?’
Envision a hellish realm where children are plagued by perpetual sleeplessness and exhaustion, the darkened bags underneath their eyes like bruises, the scars of sleep deprivation and lack of scheduled bedtimes. Each mind becomes a confused miscellany of lost thoughts, the brain unable to function properly without the heavenly empyrean of relaxation and rest. Each child begs to the merciless creature of their distorted sleeping schedules, awaiting for a savior never to come. The anguished cries of these tortured children continue to reverberate across the halls of our history, raising serious concerns about the impact that a lack of fixed bedtimes can have on our children and the following generations. A study published in JAMA Pediatrics discovered that children who did not have consistent bedtimes were 30% more likely to experience symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as a 25% higher risk of attention-related issues, compared to those who had regular sleep schedules. Additionally, inadequate resting times can contribute towards emotional impairment, causing adolescents to be more emotionally sensitive and have a higher likelihood of feeling negative emotions such as frustration, irritation, and annoyance compared to others. Physically, lack of sleep can influence our bodies through constant headaches, stomachaches, and fatigue, even during daytime. It can supplementarily lead to a weakened immune system and overall physical strength, making the body more susceptible to illnesses and diseases if it gets infected. The effects of unregulated sleeping patterns can stretch across almost every system in the body, its vast range of health complications reaching into each region like the branches of a tree. With the ability to diminish this nightmarish prophecy from becoming reality still in reach, it is our responsibility to start implementing sleeping routines upon our children before it is too late.
