First, let’s talk about UBI. Universal base income is a wage, where people don’t have to work, however, still earning money, to keep surviving. As of today, not one country has ever had a permanent UBI, however, countries have tried, like the U.S.A and China, but it was only implemented for 1 to 3 years before being taken down. UBI is targeted to cover over 75% of the population eligible. Think about what change it can do for the better.
Next, let’s talk about the world if there was UBI. As I stated before, UBI is meant to cover 75% of the eligible people. Think about the amount of people on the streets, with UBI. The Australian government has proposed 2000 dollars a month per person. This is enough for rent, food and clothes. Say there is 100 people on the street, with UBI, that could change to 20.
Last, let’s talk about the perks of UBI. As I have stated before, it aims for over 75 percent of people who are eligible, by giving them 2000 dollars. More perks are poverty reduction, and more time to study. You see, children are always under the pressure of their parents, and with their parents on the streets, they have no time or money to study, even if they wanted to. However, if they do have a home and food, they can easily study.
So for the points given above, this is why UBI has to be spread globally.

Recently, there was an experiment conducted that showed that people who didn’t have to do work and had more free time actually chose to pursue creative pathways. However, without UBI, AI might take over our lives and we will not have time or reason to be able to pursue our pathways of choice. UBI provides the opportunity to enable usually busy workers to have recreational time.
In addition, there will be more opportunities to spend time with friends and family. Most people don’t have enough time or opportunities to get together with friends and family. For example, because I myself have many tutoring lessons to go to I barely have time to play with my brother, see friends or simply bond with my family. If we have more free time, it will enable everyone to get together more and less people will experience loneliness.
Furthermore, UBI provides a pathway out of poverty. Many people around the world experience poverty, and receiving free money would be extremely beneficial to the poor. They would be able to buy houses, have healthy food and water and be able to rest. My mother came from a poor family in China, and she often says that it is a very “ku” which in English means “bitter”. If we have UBI, we can fix world poverty and solve one of the recurring problems in the world.

The main purpose of it is to give some money to the citizens. This would be extremely helpful to families who are experiencing poverty. Not only that but it can help citizens in case of the replacement of AI. Additionally, implementing UBI allows people to create more time with loved ones as we have to work in order to get money.

People struggling on the streets, desperation glimmering in their eyes. Begging for money just so they can afford to barely eat enough. Obese men, waddling like penguins in the streets with serious health issues. The hobble into McDonalds scrapping just enough money to afford something to eat. This is the same process every day for millions of people. 500 metres away there are filthy rich millionaires , wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars on stupid challenges while people wither on the streets. They don’t care. Not even a single cent will be given. This may be the future of Earth if there isn’t UBI.
Universal basic income or UBI, should be applied in every country. UBI is basically a minimum wage so nobody will get too low of an income. Australia itself has a minimum and it is currently $24.10 per hour. UBI must be implemented into other countries because it will prevent the economy to boost downwards. UBI will help accomplish better mental health, gender inequality and helping victims of domestic violence.
My first argument is UBI can help with health. Many people that don’t earn enough money can’t get good quality and healthy food. This will usually restrict them to fast food and having fast food every day causes obesity, diabetes and many more. Then they go to hospital where thousands of dollars are spent fixing this one person. Shouldn’t we just have a minimum pay wage and prevent spending thousands of dollars in hospitals? This is usually the case for many people world wide.In Australia, on average, public hospitals treat 24,100 people in their emergency departments each day. This is crazy! With a minimum pay wage, we could prevent more than half of these people not in hospital.

Would you like this to happen to you?
Imagine losing your passion or a job that you loved. One that you have worked in your whole life. Now, a robot has replaced your jobs and left you slumped in your house with no money. Currently 1.7 million jobs have been exchanged with robots. If every job gets replaced by robots the majority of people will live in poverty which will result in a more poverty-stricken world.
Secondly, it is crucial that universal basic income must be implemented worldwide because lost jobs will result in the loss of friends and other relationships. Imagine being accepted for a new job and you are unable to make new friends. Until, someone confronts you and asks you to be their friend.
